How to Become a Step-Dad: Lore
Edited: 10/16/2023
While I am currently in between writing chapters I thought I’d release a little bit of the lore that will be incorporated in the story or that I think is canon but might not get mentioned since the story is mostly Jason’s perspective.
What’s up with Jason?
So in this au Jason went through basically all his canon backstory and stuff already so that’s established and done with. Some smaller points that may or may not come up are things like his possession of the all-blades, his time on Nanda Parbat, Talia essentially adopting him, or his experience being Catatonic. Speaking of which, I have decided his resurrection came from his righteous anger combining with the ectoplasm in Gotham’s atmosphere, and he is essentially a revenant for the purposes of this story (he’s about a fourth ghost? Or maybe 3/4ths? 3/5ths? Idk yet).
He does already have a reputation in the Infinite Realms as “The Avenger” and “Son/Knight of Gotham” due both to the existence of city spirit Lady Gotham and the ghosts of people who’ve died in Gotham. He actually has a rabid fan club who want him to kill the Joker( if he became a ghost he’d be tried and banished to the nightmare realm).
I am also going to use “the pits are corrupted ectoplasm” trope in the story. However, they’re gonna be corrupted less in the sense of being straight-up poison and more in the sense of eating a weird mushroom with weird side effects (rage, slightly sentient/vocal core, white trauma streak)
As for his relationship with the Bat Family, we’ve moved to a point where everyone’s more or less made up. For Jason and Bruce specifically, they are now more civil. Their relationship is less “ What you’re doing is wrong and you have to stop.” vs “ I’m just doing what you won’t” and now it’s more “ I don’t fully approve of your decisions, but as long as you’re not killing people and coming home for dinner, I don’t care enough to nag you about it” vs “ You’re my dad and I love you. Plus actively killing people is no longer super necessary so I will give in but I still enjoy pissing you off”.
In terms of sibling relationships, Jason has like the cool older brother vibe but he’s actually the semi-responsible one that feeds you when you come over and makes you do homework and sleep properly. He’s still down for shenanigans but is low-key a mom friend. (Dick is not the responsible one” he is a certified chaos gremlin. Not to say he can’t be responsible, he’s just not the one enforcing these things. He cares more about your social, emotional, and/or, mental state and would help you skip school to steal a penguin or go to ComiCon or smth if you said it was a “mental health day”). I think he has semi-regular hangouts with his siblings on a weekly basis.
I like to think that he and Damien did have a bit of interaction when they were both with the League so they do have a close bond there. He’s definitely apologized to Tim a bunch of times and they’re pretty close now they like scheming together, especially on how to annoy Bruce. Overall he’s largely made up and re-integrated with the family. It’s going to be mentioned later in the story that they resurrected his civilian identity as Jason Todd, so he can publicly be seen with his family and also to do work with the family.
This brings me to my next point of lore: that as Jason gains more control of Crime Alley, he focuses his efforts more into charity work. He’s helping the people get their education, get better access to healthcare, get better job opportunities, running soup kitchens, etc., and doing more humanitarian-focused work. He has got a pretty firm grip on crime and drugs so he’s shifting his focus more towards helping the people now. Even just being part of his gang can be helpful because he works with the Goonion (Goon Union) and offers good insurance plans and stuff. That’s part of the reason they resurrect his civilian identity is so that he can start working with/taking over the Wayne foundation.
What’s up with Danny and Ellie?
Okay so first things first in the story Danny is going to be the ghost prince (not king yet for a long while) and he acts as a junior member on the Council of Ancients who rule with Clockwork acting as his main regent. Meaning that Council + Danny make decisions and Clockwork is Danny’s ghost dad and is formal regent but mostly just handles things with help from the council. Essentially, after at least a couple thousand years Danny will be considered “of age” or eligible and take over the Infinite Realms; and after several billion he’ll become the ancient of space/reality and essentially become a god or primordial being of sorts. Also being of age is different than being an adult ghost. To be an adult ghost you need to have been a ghost for at least 20 years after your lifetime, unless you’re an eternal kid ghost like Youngblood or BoxLunch. So ghosts like Technus, the Box Ghost, and Lunch Lady are all adult ghosts. Whereas ghosts like Johnny 13, Kitty and maybe Ember either aren’t yet adult ghosts or became adult ghosts recently. Ellie ranks as princess and second-in-line, she’ll go through a similar process and eventually join the Council, become a diplomat, and/or rule as regent if/when Danny leaves the Ghost Zone. I’m gonna say all other afterlife’s and stuff are connected to the Zone and their respective leaders make up Phantom’s Court. (So basically he’s king and they are like the nobles). They all govern their own territories and Phantom handles any rouges or conflicts. When Ellie gets older she’ll move between realms on diplomatic missions to lighten some of Danny’s work. I haven’t decided what this means for anyone who is currently mortal and/or liminal. I might just have them live, fulfilling lives and pass away and move on to different afterlives. Or I might have them take places within the Phantom’s court or as advisors. And on the topic: Jazz, the Fenton parents, Sam, and Tucker are all fairly liminal, Jazz and the Dr.s Fenton a bit more than the other two. Everyone in Amity has a little bit of liminality, but not enough to affect their life spans or anything. Also, Vlad is still currently his usual, creepy, Frootloopy-self. But after screwing him over in this fic eventually, I want to have him arrested by the ghost police and spend several thousand years in ghost prison before he gets let out. Then he works on improving his relationships and post-redemption he’s going to be like that annoying, overbearing Uncle who tries to be cool and annoys you but ya don’t hate him. Another thing I wanted to go over is their obsessions. I wanna say the halfas all have dual obsessions bc it fits nicely with the half-and-half concept. Danny is protection and space. Ellie is freedom and family. Vlad is power and love. If I include Dark Danny he’ll be power and destruction and a reformed version would have control and safety.
As for his rouge gallery? Danny is able to help them find healthier outlets for their obsessions so they've become less of an issue. Now they kind of just act like Danny's annoying friends and/or extended family. The ones who were straight-up evil though are on indefinite time out in ghost prison though (e.g. Spectra and Freakshow). The gang still comes to visit him and Ellie from time to time though and he regularly sees them when he goes back to the realms for prince duties and stuff.
What’s up with Amity?
So after he turns 18, Danny decides to tell his parents about being Phantom. He’s legally an adult now and has been working toward getting emancipated anyways so he might as well. They took it like how I imagine slightly homophobic parents would react to learning their child was lgbt (side note: the Fentons are pro-lgbt. When Danny told them he was bi Jack said “Me too son!”, happy to have something to bond over). He tells them about the portal and becoming Phantom. They believe him and they are devastated and guilty.
In the next few weeks, they get into a couple arguments over them wanting to “fix” his ghost half. He blows up and tells them that by doing that they’d end up killing him and that Phantom is a part of who he is and they’ll just have to accept that. That night Danny leaves and with help from Sam stays in an apartment with Jazz near her college. He takes a two-year gap to get a handle of Infinite Realms and GIW stuff, plus doing a few small jobs to save up some money. Within that time the GIW gets taken down and the Fentons reach out bc their love for their children is stronger than their dislike of ghosts. Their relationship is still strained but getting better.
Dani also gets de-aged during that time and Danny decides to take care of her (partly for healing purposes and partly cause he wants to). His friends help forge documentation for her and he fights with Vlad over custody but ultimately wins and makes him pay child support. He’s saved up enough money and with a little help from Sam and Vlad gets an apartment in Gotham. He got a scholarship and is doing mostly online classes at Gotham University. He’s currently working part-time (I have not decided as what but I’m leaning toward mechanic). Vlad paid to have him enroll Ellie in Gotham Academy so she wouldn’t have to go to public school and Danny allowed it since it’d get her a better education. Ellie is going to start first grade in about 3 months since they moved to Gotham in June. (Just for reference, Damian is currently 12 and in seventh grade since I've decided not to move him up.)
Everyone in Amity knows about the discord between the Fenton's before Danny leaves. They don't necessarily know about Phantom though. Everyone kind of assumes Danny came out, fought with his parents then left. When some of them find out about Ellie another rumor circulates she was the topic of the fight. Regardless, the Fenton drama is kinda an open secret and most people sympathize with Danny. Whenever he comes back to town to visit a lot of people are really nice to him and Ellie, which he thought was weird until he learned what people thought was going on. Now he just takes advantage of their misunderstandings.
What's up with the GIW?
The GIW manages to get a hold of Ellie after Danny leaves Amity. When Vlad and Danny +Team Phantom find out they team up to rescue her. Danny also recruits people that he's met during his time away. For this mission, he recruits Constantine and Captain Marvel/Shazam. When the Fentons find out they want in too, almost as an apology gesture. They no longer want to try and "fix" Danny and are okay with Ellie's existence. They view her like family and want to help out. A lot of their views are still prejudiced but they're getting better, however, that's not the only thing straining their relationship. This is a step in the right direction though.
So they go in and infiltrate first in order to get Ellie out. Then they destroy the facilities behind them as they leave. Constantine and Captain Marvel then go back to the JL to work on getting to Anti-Ecto Acts repealed, something that is still in progress during the beginning of this fic. That's why they are gonna lay low while they’re in Gotham. The GIW attempted to experiment on Ellie while they had her but the containment unit they used destabilized her ectoplasm. She retains all her memory but is mentally and physically de-aged. Frostbite assesses her and says she needs to get extra ecto and to be near another halfa aura to help develop and stabilize her own systems. That leads to Vlad and Danny fighting over custody before Danny inevitably beats Vlad into the ground and walks away with custody and child support.
I think a full reveal about identities will happen after Danny gets confirmation that his existence is no longer illegal. It'll probably be after Jason asks him out but before he accepts because he wants Jason to know what he's getting into. Jason will probably be shocked but accept it relatively quickly. I haven't decided yet if I want him to live a mortal life with them and then die (either to move on or become a full ghost) or if I want him to be basically immortal like them and give him a position in the court.

“How’ve things been?”
“Like you don’t know.”
Red Robin, you think, sure has the gall to look as smug as he does right now.
After all, it’s not as if he had a point to prove to you. You very specifically told him he didn’t and that you didn’t care what he did regardless of whether he took your advice or not.
Despite the look on his face, he manages to say, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Sure you don’t,” you say, a little bit more accusingly than you mean to, following him as he ventures to the candy aisle.
“Alright,” he concedes, not looking at you as he bends forward to peer at the display of gummy candy. “But just so you know, it ended up taking a life of its own. You’ve made a solid impression so far.”
“You’re kidding.”
“Not at all. The list of places we can visit like this without having the cops called or worse is very short.”
“But that perception works.”
“Well, sometimes it’s less about fear and more about plain disapproval. Which also does its own job but… tiring, sometimes.”
That… makes sense. The Flash can walk down the street in Keystone and Central without anyone getting all up in arms about it. These guys can’t.
“But it’s necessary, no?” Just curiosity. Not agreeing, exactly.
Red Robin takes two packs of sour gummy worms and straightens, turning away from you to head to the refrigerators at the back. “Doesn’t change the fact that we can find it a little bit tiring. Makes you wonder if you can strike a balance, but in the end, it’s nothing more than an ideal. Fear rules best.”
“I’m sure.”
“Civilian, remember?”
“Yeah, well, this civilian gets to pass judgment since I’m a citizen of this city just like you guys are.”
Seems like they forget that sometimes. Or Batman does. You’ve heard whispers of metas who found out they had powers and attempted to use them for good. Only to be sharply turned away by Batman.
There is something to be said about ensuring not just anybody goes out and does what they do, lest they get themselves and others killed, but the impression you’ve gotten is that he doesn’t allow metas in the city. No matter their experience or skill level. The only exception to the rule, so far, is Signal.
You don’t know. When you were younger, they seemed cool. As you got older, that changed. How could you trust them? How could anyone know if they were trying to do good or if they were just enacting their own convoluted brand of justice? Red Hood’s existence several years ago proved that to you and all the others.
Even if he was trying to set himself apart from Batman or whatever, the fact remains that everyone in East End, in Park Row, in the Narrows, in the Bowery, feared that they might be next. Didn’t matter if you were innocent or not because one’s definition of innocent differed sharply from his—from theirs. And when you were desperate like most people there were, that changed everything, too.
Sure, the GCPD is corrupt and so is the justice system and the government and practically every institution in this city, in this country, but… you just don’t know.
So, maybe he does have a point to prove to you.
Maybe they all do.
“Well, look,” he starts, surprising you as he turns with two bottles of Zesti in hand. “If you want us to stop coming around, we will. No harm done.”
Fine.
Fine.
Maybe you’ll regret the decision but… it does make them all the more tangible to you.
“It’s fine. Keep coming around. Might discourage anyone from trying their luck and it keeps my shifts interesting.”
“And it’s all about you, is it?”
“If not, find another Circle K to haunt.”
He laughs. The sound is familiar but nice, in a way. Comforting almost. It’s then you shake your head and turn away sharply, trying to push the feeling away.
There’s that, too. Maybe if you can keep Red Robin coming around long enough, you’ll figure out what exactly it is about him that bothers you, that niggles at you.
It should help take your mind off things. Like your growing concern about Tim’s lack of contact with you. You and Steph have hung out twice since she came back and both times he said he was busy. It shouldn’t be something that bothers you, but the fact that your attempt a few days ago to hang out with him alone for ice cream was also shot down with that same excuse. And of course, his sparse replies to your texts.
But he did reply eventually. Just some agreement about what you said about Signal. Didn’t exactly carry the conversation much further but at least he replied, right? Same goes for the shared group chat between you, him, and Steph.
You haven’t spoken to her about it, either, but you don’t want to.
It’s—complicated.
That’s just what your life feels like these days.
Complicated.
Tumblr media
Red Robin keeps coming around.
The others come around, too. You don’t see much of Signal working the night shift but you do see Black Bat again. Even Spoiler, though she keeps her distance for a reason you can’t understand. Not to say she is mean or anything. She just waves at you but she never says much else. You’ll hear her and Black Bat talking quietly, though the words themselves are lost on you no matter how hard you strain your ears.
You keep worrying about Tim, of course, and hanging out with Steph, who squeezes in time to see you in between her internship with social services.
For a while, things are calm. The vigilantes who pop up grow increasingly familiar and any wariness evaporates.
Then you get a new face.
The guy walking around the store in the oversized grey hoodie is doing a bad job at robbing you, you think.
Well, he hasn’t actually robbed you. But his hand stays in the pocket of his hoodie, clearly grasping something as he makes a couple circuits around the store. Either scoping it out to see if there is anyone else to worry about or trying to work himself up to it. You think it’s the latter, with how nervous and sweaty he looks.
Mostly, it’s for your own nerves to think that.
It’s been a hot minute since the store was robbed and you were held at gunpoint (or knifepoint). You aren’t explicitly allowed to trigger the silent alarm until either of those things make an appearance, so even with the bad feeling in your gut, you can’t yet do anything.
You are close, though. So very close.
But you don’t have to wait any longer as he rounds the corner and pulls out the gun.
Oh, great.
Before he can say anything, before you can say or do something, the door swings open.
When you both look, there is nothing there.
You wince at the rush of hot smelly air from the outside.
“Who—who’s there?!” he yells, then swings the gun back to you. “What did you do?!”
“I didn’t do anything—”
The arrow comes out of nowhere.
One blink and it’s embedded in his hand, the same hand holding—previously holding—the gun. You flinch as the weapon clatters sharply to the ground, your stomach churning at the sight of the arrow embedded in his hand, blood dripping; he yells in pain, dropping to his knees.
Then comes the owner of the arrow.
Dressed in black and dark shades of purple, the Huntress is a sight to behold. Her boots are soundless on the tiles. She looks… bored as she talks to someone. Some kind of comm, you guess.
“Yeah, I know, I’m on my way back, I’m picking up coffee. From the—yeah. So he’s gotten to you, too? Figures. What’s the sound—? Oh, just some idiot trying to rob the store. Yeah, go ahead and call the cops.”
You stare, heart beating so quickly you feel a little dizzy, as she knocks the guy out, leaving him to slump on the ground. She kicks the gun further away from him for good measure.
Finally, she looks at you.
The Huntress, a figure you’ve only seen in the newspaper or articles online, mostly grainy pictures, is very pretty up close. Shoulder-length dark hair, olive skin, lips painted a deep, pretty shade of purple, and sharp blue eyes, easily revealed through her mask.
“Are you okay?” she asks, watching you carefully.
“Y-Yeah,” you stammer. “Thank you.”
A slight shrug. “All in a day’s work. Coffee?”
“Um. Over there.”
“Thanks.”
You watch, befuddled, as the Huntress steps over the body of the now-unconscious robber and strides to the coffee machine, entirely unbothered as she grabs three cups.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know how you take your coffee, O. Give me some credit. Is Cat coming by? No? Alright, just you and BC, then.”
As the machine sputters out coffee, she comes back over to you. “Do you have any drink carriers?”
“Yeah, they’re over there.”
You point them out, on the other side of the Slurpee machine, and she nods her thanks, grabbing one.
She returns to the counter a couple minutes later.
“So, um,” you start, clearing your throat. “Is there anything in particular I should say to the police about this?”
She tilts her head, confused for a moment, before realizing what you mean.
“Oh, don’t worry about it. You can say it was me. They’ll want to see the footage, too. Let them.” She pauses, giving you an appraising look. “Is there anyone you would like me to call?”
“Call?” you ask, confused as you ring up the coffees.
She fiddles with a pouch in her utility belt without taking her eyes off you, pulling out a ten dollar bill.
“Red Robin?”
“Red—no. No, I don’t think… I’m fine, I mean.”
Huntress nods and lets it go, accepting her change.
“The cops’ll be here in a few,” she says. “I’ll be around until then, so don’t worry.”
 “Thank you, again.”
She gives you the smallest of smiles. “Like I said. All in a day’s—night’s—work.”
You watch her go, one part of you not wanting her to leave, but the other assuaged by her promise to hang around and make sure nothing and nobody bothers you again.
The police arrive a little while after that. By the arrow in the man’s hand, they already know who saved you, but they still demand to see the footage.
“So, it was the Huntress?”
“Yes.”
“Has she ever come by?”
“No.”
“Have you ever interacted with her anywhere else?”
You pause, barely stopping yourself from narrowing your eyes, because you do not like the accusatory tone this cop is giving you. What did he say his name was? Bullock or something.
You send a silent apology to Sandra Bullock for having to share her last name with this idiot.
“Well?” he asks, burning cigarette hanging from his lips, arms crossed. The smell of tobacco is nauseating this close. What’s worse is you’re outside while the other guys handle things inside. Even at one in the morning, the heat edges on unbearable and the humidity is even worse, making your skin tacky with it.
“No,” you say, a tiny bit exasperated. “I have never interacted with her before this. Why would I want to?”
“You were talking to her.”
“She was talking to me. Asked me if I was okay.”
Unlike any of these assholes who blew in here, sirens wailing, and made you put your hands up as they came in, guns brandished, even though the guy was obviously down for the count. Honestly, they scare you more than the shooter. At least in that moment. These guys can be real trigger-happy.
Now, they’re just a pain in your ass.
You need a Slurpee, you think. No, deserve one. For your troubles.
“It’s cut-and-dry, Harv,” the other detective, Montoya, puts in, having stepped away. She sends you a sympathetic look that just annoys you even more. “Got some calls from a few other convenience stores for suspicious activity. They saw this guy, too, but he always left before doing anything. Guess he finally worked up the nerve to do it here but it didn’t work out well in his favor.”
Bullock grunts. “You run her ID?”
Oh, for the love of—
“She’s clear. We’re good.”
Behind you, two EMTs haul the still-unconscious robber out and into the ambulance, which promptly leaves; a cop with gloves on steps out, the gun in a baggie.
Montoya asks you a few more questions, obviously trying to make up for Bullock’s brusque manner of speaking, but it’s a futile effort. You still cooperate, however, as politely as you can with the annoyance still burning inside you and this damnable heat.
Eventually, they leave, called away to some other incident, cars peeling away from the curb, blue-and-red lights flashing, sirens wailing.
You watch them go, allowing your scowl to come out full-force, your arms crossed tightly over your chest.
“Bullock’s always like that. It’s not personal.”
“Jesus,” you hiss, heart pounding as you whirl around; it takes a moment for your eyes to pick out Red Robin leaned against the brick apartment building next to the store, his figure mostly cloaked in shadows.
He steps into the light. Despite the nonchalant tone of his previous words, he looks, dare you say, worried.
“Just coming around?”
“No. I heard what happened. Wanted to come and see how you were.”
“Annoyed. And hot. And tired. Come on, let’s go inside. The AC isn’t that great but it’s better than this.”
Red Robin follows you in. You click your tongue upon finding the blood from the guy’s hand still on the tile. So, now you have to clean that, too, on top of the paperwork you have to fill out for the incident. Great.
You jump at the nudge of a knuckle between your shoulder blades. “What—”
“I can clean it up.”
“No, that’s—”
“Let me do it. I have more experience cleaning blood than you.”
“Charming,” you mutter. “But alright, fine. Thanks.”
“Cleaning supplies?”
“First aisle.”
A nod and he turns, cape fluttering behind him.
You rub your forehead, feeling a headache start to form, and continue for the Slurpee machine at the other end of the store.
A few minutes later, Red Robin joins you, wiping his gloved hands with what looks and smells to be antiseptic pads.
“Good as new,” he tells you, reaching for a Slurpee cup, too, as you sip at yours. “Like nothing ever happened.”
You sigh. “Thanks. Appreciate it.”
“So,” he starts, holding the cup beneath the tube for… the Zesti Cola flavor? What a complete weirdo.
“Are you—” he stops when he looks at you. “You’re judging me.”
“Who comes in to get a Cola-flavored Slurpee? That’s weird. You might as well just get a bottle of it.”
“Woah. It’s so not the same thing. If there was a drink form of, what do you get? Blue raspberry? Yeah. If there was a drink form of that, would you do that instead? A Slurpee is about the consistency. The slushy factor.”
Okay, that’s fair, but something about everything he just said makes you laugh. Hard.
Maybe the heat is getting to you. Maybe it’s the hysteria setting in. Maybe it’s Red Robin passionately defending his choice in Slurpee flavor and saying shit like ‘The slushy factor’ with a straight face. You don’t know.
“You’re finally losing it, aren’t you?” Despite his words, Red Robin looks almost relieved. He really was worried, you surmise, which is a… touching thought.
You quell your giggles, shaking your head; though the laughter was nice, your head is really pounding now.
“Here,” he says, digging through a pouch at his utility belt, pulling out a mini packet of… huh. Tylenol.
“Tampered?” you ask, taking it from him, anyway.
“If I wanted to kill you, I would’ve done it already.”
“Again. Charming.” But it still doesn’t change the thoughtfulness of the action; he doesn’t have to. If anything, this stuff is probably best kept for him. Though with their proclivity for putting their lives in danger, you don’t imagine Tylenol would be particularly helpful against gunshot wounds, but still…
“Thanks,” you say, a little quieter now, more meaning in your voice as you tear it open and shake out two pills.
Red Robin shakes his head. “It’s the least I can do.”
You can tell he means it. Which is, again, both touching and maybe a little bit confusing, too.
But trying to decipher why he does what he does is a futile effort.
This is, after all, the same guy who dresses up and goes out fighting the worst of the worst night after night.
Best not to look too closely. Who knows what you might find.
Tumblr media
Despite your best efforts, Steph finds out about what happened. Something about the newspaper, which is odd, because you don’t recall seeing the news there—honestly, much more crazy shit happens overnight in Gotham. Robberies are old news.
But either way, you can’t complain too much because you are appreciative of her coddling the next day, which includes, but is not limited to, ordering takeout, burrowing on your crappy couch together, and watching old 2000s movies.
The only thing missing is—
“He said he was busy but he sent me the money for takeout. To make up for it.”
You purse your lips but don’t say anything. That you don’t want his money. You just want—
Nothing.
“We don’t need him,” Steph says determinedly in the next second. Which is a departure from what she usually says—that you’ll see Tim eventually, that his work at WE will let up. You don’t have the energy to ponder why.
You sigh, sinking further into the couch. Steph is warm next to you. You can smell her shampoo. Jasmine.
“I guess not,” you concede in a mumble.
You can’t do anything but concede. After all, it’s your initial avoidance of him at the start of June that caused this, right? And he keeps dodging your calls, your requests to hang out—points in which you might’ve been able to clear the air, apologize for it, but… no.
It’s not like you could track him down. You know the apartments he lives in—down in Old Gotham, in a much more expensive building than your shitty one here in Coventry. But sometimes he spends time at the manor, too, up in Bristol and you can’t ambush him there. You couldn’t. That would be too much. Right?
Trying to find him at WE is a lost cause, too. Not just because they have three given locations throughout the city but because you wouldn’t know if he was in or not.
Or maybe you’re just looking for the easy way out.
Complicated.
Why does it have to be so complicated?
Tumblr media
“You look tired.”
“Thank you, Red, because that’s what every girl loves to hear.”
“Just a simple observation,” he responds, leaning against the counter, eating a kolach. Your Slurpee cups sweat in the mid-June heat, creating rings of condensation on the scuffed and scratched counter. You watch a droplet slowly roll down, joining the ring of water.
Your eyelids are heavy, dragging with each blink. A dull headache reminds you of your restless sleep and you’re sure the bags under your eyes tell it to the world, too. To Red Robin, specifically.
He finishes his kolach, crumpling the wrapper in one hand, looking steadily at you all the while.
“What?”
“Is it because of what happened last week?” he asks and his voice is frightfully gentle in a way you are not emotionally prepared to deal with.
“No,” you say quickly. “It’s not that.”
The occasional nightmare bothers you but that’s normal. You can deal with that.
“Then?”
You shake your head. God, you are exhausted. You fold your arms on the counter and bury your face there.
It’s quiet for a minute.
The refrigerators hum at the back. The AC makes an odd clanging noise before it turns on. Somewhere outside, a dog barks.
“I’m a good listener,” Red hedges after a minute. “Or so I’ve been told.”
“It’s stupid,” you say, voice muffled.
“Why?”
“Because it’s, like, stupid twenty-year-old drama and not, I dunno, the latest rumors on drug trades.”
Red laughs. It’s a pleasant sound that makes something inside you unwind.
“You should be relieved to hear I am up to date on the latest rumors on drug trades. And also, believe it or not, I do like to talk about things other than crime.”
“Could’ve fooled me.”
A soft chuckle. It sounds almost affectionate.
“Come on. Whatever it is, it’s making you lose sleep. That’s not good.”
“Losing some sleep isn’t the end of the world.”
“I don’t know. Feels like it might be for you.”
You grunt, an old memory from Keystone niggling at you. You set it aside for the moment.
“It’s nothing,” you say eventually. “It’s just—nothing.”
“I don’t think it’s nothing,” he remarks. “But if you don’t want to talk about it now, that’s cool, too. If you ever do—”
“Dr. Red, to the rescue.”
He laughs. “Well, I’m not a licensed therapist and I can’t promise my advice is sound, either, so…”
“Don’t sue you?”
“Like you even could. But still, I’m here.”
You want to ask why but that might be too much for you right now.
You let yourself settle with some generic explanation, that he is obligated to ask that as a vigilante, as someone who is generally supposed to be concerned with the wellbeing of the citizens of this city. And also he is trying to prove some kind of point, so this is part of that.
“So,” you quickly say to change the topic. “What are the latest rumors on the drug trade?”
He laughs. “Wouldn’t you like to know?”
Tumblr media
“You look tired.”
“Thank you, Flash, that’s exactly what I’d like to hear.”
“Just a simple observation,” he says, holding up his hands in a placating gesture.
“Well, rest assured, I have Tim and Steph on my case about it. They’ve both demanded a video call with me tomorrow despite me telling them I am alive and well. Apparently, just saying I’m alive isn’t reassuring. Can’t imagine why. That’s more than enough in Gotham…”
Mother hens, the both of them.
And Flash, too, apparently, though he does a better job of covering it up.
Off near the coffee machine, a melodic hum of Dancing in the Dark, the song currently playing lowly overhead, reaches you. You tune into it, the sound lulling you, both because it’s pleasant and because the song makes you think of Tim and his love for Bruce Springsteen (largely in honor of his late father, Jack Drake). Because of that, you totally miss Flash’s next words.
“—here? Oh, Jesus, Piper! Stop humming. You’re distracting her.”
“Oh, sorry!” comes the apologetic and still melodic voice of the Pied Piper. More normal now, though, letting you shake your head and focus again. Piper comes around the aisle, a big cup of coffee in hand; he gives you a handsome and apologetic smile that you wave off.
“It’s fine—what were you saying, Flash?”
He wiggles his fingers at you. “I’m just curious about those two, that’s all, since they seem very worried about you, oh, practically all the time. Not that it’s unwarranted, of course.”
“I’m fine, Flash.”
He gives you a look. “I don’t believe that but seems like they got it covered so, I’ll let it go. I’m still curious about them, though. What are we talking here? Boyfriend? Girlfriend? Both boyfriend and girlfriend? That’s cool, I don’t judge.”
“Are you—what? In regards to who?”
“You, obviously.”
You shake your head quickly. “No. No, absolutely not. Tim and Steph dated when they were teens, they’re exes. That’s weird.”
A bit of an uncomfortable discussion, too, if only because you are… too aware of your own attraction to Tim. A different kind of attraction. One that has you constantly admiring him. Or had you, back when you were in Gotham. With Steph, you know she is stupidly pretty but it doesn’t fluster you.
It's… nothing.
(It has to be nothing.)
“Feelings are a natural part of life, kiddo! Nothing weird about it. Have they been weird about it?”
“We’ve never even discussed the remote possibility of me dating either of them—because that would never happen in a million years.”
“Well, if they’re friends, then it shouldn’t be a problem. You don’t get many exes who can stay friends after a breakup. Right, Pipes?”
“It’s true,” he says easily, and, hold on a fucking minute, is… is the Flash implying that he and Piper dated?
“Yes, we did,” Flash answers and oh, you said that out loud, and this is… a bit of Flash lore that you aren’t sure you ever needed to know.
But still. He continues, shooting a grin at Piper. “And we’re still great friends! Me, him, and my wife!”
“Wife?” you choke out.
Great. More lore.
Piper rolls his eyes. “Flash.”
“Okay, I didn’t mean to give that away but it’s fine, we can trust her. She’s a friend.”
The words would be sweet if you still weren’t compartmentalizing the fact that he is actually married and… apparently dated the Pied Piper at one point. The Pied Piper who used to be part of the Flash’s rogue gallery, then reformed. Huh.
“You—” you point at him for good measure “—have a wife? Someone actually married you?”
Piper bursts out laughing. It’s a pleasant sound you could get lost in… No! Focus.
Flash looks affronted. “I’ll have you know I am excellent husband material!”
Piper, still chuckling, looks at you and gives a small shrug. “It is true. The superhero community isn’t very ripe with it, for reasons I’m sure you can figure out, so, Flash is a bit of a standout in that area.”
“Because the bar is low.”
“Not true,” Flash interjects. “Superman is married. You know how hard it is to compete with Superman? It’s hard. But I manage it. We’re nearly neck-and-neck in terms of husband material, I’d say.”
He ignores Piper’s snort of laughter and leans in conspiratorially. “But you know who isn’t married? Batman. He’s not husband material. He’s not even boyfriend material.”
You look at Piper, who shrugs. “Never met the guy, thankfully, but from what I’ve heard from Flash, I have to agree. The tall, dark, and broody thing can be attractive but—”
“He’s just a sourpuss,” Flash finishes. “No sense of whimsy whatsoever.”
“Oh, and you have that?”
Piper laughs as Flash sputters. “I can have fun! Why do you think I hang around you?”
You laugh. “That’s… Alright. Fine.”
Flash cocks his head suddenly, no doubt listening to the police frequency he tunes into. Piper fishes out a twenty for everything and tells you to keep the change. In the next moment, the both of them are gone, leaving you with a sharp gust of wind and arcing blue lightning that makes your skin break out in goosebumps.
Okay, then.
Tumblr media
Your video call is the next day—Saturday—and it goes as well as you think it will.
“You look like shit.”
Steph is more blunt about it, but the sight of Tim’s grimacing face on your laptop screen shows he very much agrees.
“Thank you, my dear friends, it is lovely to see you, too, yes, I’m doing quite well, thank you. And you?”
“Okay, fair,” Tim says, holding up a hand, “but don’t lie and saying you’re doing ‘quite well.’ Someone doing ‘quite well’ doesn’t look as exhausted as you look.”
You narrow your eyes at him. “And you wonder why you don’t have a girlfriend.”
“Or boyfriend,” Steph tacks on immediately, not one to miss an opportunity to tag him.
He rolls his eyes. You shuffle around, freshly showered, looking around for your lotion, then remember it’s in the bathroom.
“Give me a sec,” you say to them, heading over to it.
The audio of the video call feeds out from the speakers of your laptop, so you can easily hear their next conversation.
“It’s so hard, isn’t it?” Steph asks
“What is?” comes Tim’s confused question.
“The urge to resist wiring her money. It’s written all over your face, duckie.”
“Like you don’t want to, either,” he shoots back.
A pause.
“Maybe we can—"
“I can hear you!” you call as you go back to your desk, bottle of lotion in hand. They look a tad sheepish as you settle in your chair. “And look, fine, I won’t say to a couple bucks—"
“Define a couple bucks,” Tim says.
“Max twenty—for dinner—” as soon as you say that, they’re both scrambling for their phones. You grimace. “Guys, come on, it’s not that bad.”
Tim gives you a concerned look. “Even your bags have bags.”
You blink. “Did you just… quote Spongebob?”
Steph grins in the other frame. “He’s finally cultured.”
Then they both return their focus to their phones.
A second later, yours chimes with notifications from Cashapp, twenty dollars from each of them.
“Guys… everything is fine.”
“No, it’s not,” Steph says stubbornly. “But that’s fine. You know you can rely on us, right? We’re friends. That’s what friends do. I know Timothy over here doesn’t always set the greatest examples for it—”
“Thanks, Steph.”
“You’re welcome,” she replies without missing a beat. “Anyway, let us help.”
“You’re already helping,” you soothe. “So, it’s okay. This semester is going to be tough but it’ll be worth it. And after this, it’ll be easier, okay? You guys are here now—”
“Not in a way that really matters,” Tim mutters.
“Which is not an invitation to come over here,” you warn—him, mostly. Steph would go along with it but he’d be the instigator.
They both pout.
You smile. Sometimes, it’s hard to handle the fact that you have friends like this. Friends who care so deeply, who love you so much, it feels hard to breathe. Because you know you love them just as much.
“I love you guys,” you say next, because you have to say it, they have to know; it’s hard for you, sometimes, just because it scares you, but after everything, you know how important it is for the people you love to know you love them.
They soften, echoing the words, and that’s enough for you.
Of course it is.
You don’t have much. No parents, no other family.
But you have them.
Tumblr media
“What do you think you’re doing?”
A slow blink. “Updating Redbird’s security protocols?”
The garage of Tim’s townhouse smells sharply of oil and rubber. But he isn’t elbow-deep in the engine today, just seated off to the side, laptop perched on his lap and hooked up to its system. ‘Updating’ it. God knows why. The Redbird’s security protocols are just as stringent as the Batmobile’s.
Jason once regaled them with his plan, way back when, to blow it up. Bruce included. And how he went about it.
“It’s got safeguards like crazy, right? Even when it’s idle or shut down. Come up to it, fire a gun, launch a missile—doesn’t matter. Not gonna touch it before the security protocols kick in. It can sense you on thermal, air currents, video recognition, all of it.”
“So, how’d you get past it?”
“SEAL-grade wetsuit. Invisible to thermal with reflection fibers that play hell with video. But the biggest thing? Going slow. And I mean slow. Like five seconds per inch slow.”
The insane attention to detail and paranoia runs in the family, obviously.
Tim had sat in for that. Stephanie remembers the look on his face. Begrudging respect, combined with a familiar twitchiness that told her he was absolutely dying to run out and start updating his stuff.
Question everything. That’s what Bruce says.
Tim tries to separate himself from it. He really does. It gets tiring, exhausting, to live like that. But old habits die hard and his big brain precedes him sometimes. Wondering at the possibilities, at the million-in-one scenarios.
Ordinarily, Stephanie has more sympathy for him. Really. But right now, after your phone call about his little visit to Circle K…
She’s pissed.
“Don’t play dumb,” she says, crossing her arms tightly over her chest.
“What is it that I’m playing dumb about?” he asks, averting his attention back to his laptop, keys clacking quickly, pausing momentarily as he takes a swig of Red Bull.
She tells him.
At the sound of your name, he stops.
But now that she’s started, she can’t stop. “Visiting her? As Red Robin? What are you thinking, Tim?”
The clack of keys resumes. The set of his gaze on the laptop screen is very intentional now. Avoiding her.
“It’s nothing, Steph,” he says and she almost believes it. But she knows him, so she doesn’t. “It’s harmless.”
“So, why won’t you hang out with us? Her? Because I assume you’re also avoiding her individually.”
A little sigh. Impatient. “I’m not avoiding her. I really was busy. Have been busy. You know how the heat messes with the city.”
It’s the excuse that bothers Stephanie.
Tim is making some kind of choice here. Choosing to favor Red Robin over himself, over Tim Drake, and it makes no sense. Red Robin isn’t your best friend. He isn’t even your favorite vigilante. (Black Canary is. She agrees, though it would be nice for Spoiler to get some spotlight but that is neither here nor there.)
You know who is your best friend? (One of them, anyway.)
Tim freakin’ Drake.
Stephanie knows why he’s avoiding you all of a sudden. The connection will be too easy to make. It’s why she—as Spoiler—keeps her distance. Tucks away her hair, hides her face even more, when she and Cass visit Circle K.
Even though! They had talked about telling you. Stephanie wanted to tell you so badly. You know who her father is. Was. You know how her mom used to be like. You know everything and you never once judged. You were, to be sure, a bit wary of them—the vigilantes—but most were. You wouldn’t turn them away if you knew.
If there is anything Stephanie knows, it is that.
But then she went away to Metropolis for a week and a half and suddenly, he’s visiting you as Red Robin. And he’s not trying to ease you into it, not trying to help you latch onto some clues, to make it easier—because they’d discussed that, too!—he’s doing it because… Well, she doesn’t really know. But there is a reason. She knows that much. A big reason.
It makes no sense to her, considering his feelings. Complicates things unnecessarily. Especially with how he’s avoiding you because of it, because he apparently got cold feet on telling you the truth.
And it’s the excuse… it’s the excuse that pisses her off.
Their relationship, back when they were kids, had some questionable origins. It did. Stephanie did things she wasn’t proud of. He did things he wasn’t proud of. It was messy. She tries not to kick herself about it—about being a silly girl in love, awed at the attention of a boy like Robin, knowing he was dating a girl (Ariana Dzerchenko, her name was, she would later find) and making moves on him despite that, moves that he always, always went along with. Like two magnets that couldn’t help but fall together.
Don’t get her wrong! The blame is not solely on her. It’s on him, too. She shouldn’t have pushed. He shouldn’t have went along with it, knowing he had a girlfriend, too. He shouldn’t have held his knowledge of her identity over her head the way he did. He isn’t mean-spirited at heart but he had an advantage over her. He knew she was Stephanie Brown. She knew him only as Robin and nothing else. Not until later on that would change and that… that was another mess entirely.
But they were dumb and young. Stephanie tries not to hold it against herself. They know better now. She knows better now. Knows what she deserves.
But this feels too close to him crossing that line.
No, he has crossed that line.
Given one persona up for another.
Approaching you as Red Robin, while you know nothing of him, and doing god knows what…
Someone is going to get hurt.
Last time, it was him. The circumstances, Bruce’s unceremonious reveal of his identity to her—a mistake, an egregious overstep—it all culminated in Tim feeling betrayed. Betrayed that Bruce would reveal that to her without Tim’s say so, without even asking him if he was okay with her knowing. Betrayed that Stephanie went along with it.
This time?
Stephanie feels it in her bones.
The person who is going to get hurt is you.
You, clueless about these lives they lead, clueless as Tim monopolizes your time as Red Robin, all the while you have no idea it’s him. You, her best friend. Stephanie loves you to the end of the universe.
She doesn’t want to see you hurt.
The mere thought of it, of the potential fallout, leaves a sick feeling in the pit of her stomach.
“Steph. Steph, it’s fine.”
She blinks, coming back to herself. Tim is standing in front of her now, dark brows knitted together, blue eyes intent on her face. Concerned.
“You’re lying to her.”
“We’ve been lying to her.”
“Not like this,” she says quietly. “Not this way. You’re… This is too much, Tim. I don’t understand why you’re doing this. What happened?”
“Nothing,” he says. For what it’s worth, to anyone else, it sounds believable. But like she said. Stephanie knows him. For better or for worse.
And on that end, she also knows he is not going to budge. No matter how much Stephanie wants to drill this into him, grab him by the shoulders and make her point. Once he’s made a decision, he commits.
Or more like he’s dug himself into this grave and he doesn’t (can’t?) want to get out.
“This is a mistake,” she says. “And you know it. I just hope you actually try to fix it sooner rather than later. Because if you break her heart, I’m going to break something of yours.”
Stephanie loves Tim. He’s a great friend. They’ve had their ups and downs—even discounting their relationship—but they’re solid. They are.
But she loves you, too. So much so it sometimes feels like she’s going to burst with it. She’s never had something like that, like this, and in the end, she doesn’t want to choose, but Tim knows better. And because he knows better, you are her first priority.
Even worse, he doesn’t seem bothered by the threat. Relieved, if anything.
“I’m counting on it, Steph.”
Which is so unfair in so many ways (fix it, she wants to yell, don’t rely on me to come clean up when shit hits the fan—do it yourself!) but she’s had enough of this conversation and all the ways this can go wrong.
Maybe he will turn around. Maybe. Maybe, maybe, maybe.
But she doesn’t think so. He won’t. Not until the consequences of this, of his lies, of his excuses, come hit him in the face.
She wishes it weren’t like that—knowing what it will result in.
But some things you just can’t change.
She knows better with Tim.
She really, really does.

incubus!jeno ,,,,..
where when he cums inside you ,,..,; you get a cute little womb tattoo to show everyone that you’re claimed by him ,,,..,,,,.🚪🚶🏽‍♀️
OMG YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSJSJSKSJSKSJ!!!!
seeing jeno in glasses did something to me so please excuse me for pushing my nerd!jeno agenda a little bit…
you never would have suspected that one nerdy guy you always caught stealing glances at you in class was an incubus.
he started appearing in your dreams, fantasies of him left you a wet aching mess come morning. you felt bad, your perverted mind conjured up the dirtiest fantasies every single night about a guy you barely knew. you quickly spiralled into insanity. your hands stopped doing the job anymore, so did toys and other men.
maybe if you were in a better state of mind, you would have hatched a less demeaning and horny-brained plan than begging the nerd to tutor you and hoping he’d be up for sexual favours as a thank you. but, things worked as planned - exactly how jeno had planned.
at some point you realise he’s not who you thought he was; he’s obviously not human and definitely not the sweet upright guy he presented himself to be - you couldn’t care less though. not even when he tells you that you’ll belong to him if you follow through. you’re too far gone to care that you’ve been used and corrupted. in fact, being his sounds better and better with each inch of his thick girth that he sinks into you.
by the time he’s close, you can barely form the words that don’t revolve around begging for him to cum inside of you. a hot burning sensation fills your lower abdomen as pumps you full of his seed, drawing out what feels like the hundredth orgasm he’s given you.
when you open your eyes, you see jeno gleaming downward at your tummy with pride, ‘finally all mine.’ you look to see an elaborate sigil just below your bellybutton, which he grazes a finger over. fear would have finally hit any normal person, now they were satiated, but you felt giddy and warm.
when you show up to class next, everyone wonders when you got a new tattoo and when you got so close to jeno…

Cons are good a.u.
How much better would the decepticons handle neurodivergence?
Hmm well, I'm sure they would have something but they're not really that far away from Cybertron.
Decepticons were originally from Cybertron and followed their rules until they were outcasted. Some of the best medics and mechanics were sided with Decepticons, although with lack of proper equipment and medicine, there isn't much to work with outside of major cities outside Cybertron they control.
Despite things not being registered in the medical code, the Decepticon medics handle such things as any real issue one would have.
For example Shockwave/Longarm- he has a slight personality split thing from creation. He was originally just a normal civil mech just living his life as more than one person. When the war was brewing he joined the Decepticons and with his ability to be one person with many faces he acts as a spy for them.
Blitzwing is a whole new thing- he was programmed with some sort of AuDHD (autism+adhd). He was originally a seeker working in the Decepticon file department along with Shockwave and got the appropriate treatment but the need to move and be in action was eating him inside out, so Megatron re-assigned him to be a seeker scout. Then the war got rougher and Decepticons were forced to abandon any honor they had left and turn to more heinous means.
The projects to improve their frames started and along with that several candidactes volunteered or were picked. Blitzwing originally didn't want to do it but got persuaded by Megatron. The success rates were low but Blitzwing was a success... at a cost.
Something went wrong with his programming when adjusting to another altmode and now he had a permanent personality disorder. He was the first and the last to go under such procedure and be alive.
Blitzwing may be scared of Megatron after this but Megatron still treats him with respect. He thinks of Blitzwing as his son and will protect him if need be.
I don't really know where i was going with this, i'm a bit rusty but to summarize: The 'cons are aware of the existance of such issues and are trying their best to help folks with them. They have treatment and try to share it with whoever they can without getting them killed for having associations with Decepticons. Those that have neurodivergent and other issues get assigned to appropriate jobs to do well in.
Cybertron's council is corrupt and they only care about profit so people are forced to live in this pretend-utopia dystopia to survive and deal with whatever shit hits them. If they have those undiagnosed issues the society only treats them as useless troublemakers and they are most likely quick to lose jobs.
Bumblebee, being forged in the corrupt era of Cybertron, had several issues with his programming and ended up being an underdeveloped frame that got classified as minibot. He struggled with academy and somehow landed a job at a club, the owner was secretly a decepticon-favoring folk and got him in touch with specialists to patch whatever issues he had, even sponsored it when he didn't have money for the procedures. He had a little easier life.
On earth he got diagnosed with ADHD and symptoms of depression- Ratchet never says where he gets the treatment pills for him but they work so he never bothers to ask. Prowl has autism so he's also on the treatment list, Optimus too (PTSD stuff). (He pays Swindle to deliver him stuff a normal supply delivery wouldn't give him. It's the only reason he's able to maintain them all working. A less ethical practice of his is copying one's files to another hard drive in case their system crashes and deletes them, he keeps quiet about it.)
I think that's about it? Lemme know if i missed something.

Do you perhaps want to info dump about your DSMP superpower AU?
Totally not asking to procrastinate on literally writing my own. Nah. I don’t even know what procrastination is.
SKLFDJSJHDJFLH INFODUMPING ABOUT MY AU? ALWAYS. I'M SO GLAD YOU ASKED.
Okay so! Where should I start? *rubs hands like that one evil toddler cousin on Christmas*
The background setting!
So the fic already has a name, but I'm keeping it AND the MC secret as a lil surprise for when the fic is eventually published. All I will say about it is, it's not Tommy. *gasp*
Tommy does appear though, so I'll start there to avoid detection I think.
He works at the bakery(yes, it's owned by Niki Nihachu), which is right around the corner from the hero headquarters. So heroes are always stopping by for baked goods, especially since Niki's girlfriend, Puffy, has a son who's one of the top heroes, and he told all his friends about how good the bakery is.
And, of course, true to all the clichĂŠs, Tommy and his two roommates work as vigilantes. They don't work only at night, though. They work at lunchtime as well, since they all get an hour of lunch break & a lot of villains are out and about around that time. Counterintuitive, but then again, there are a lot of people in the streets to nab as hostages, and some villains actively seek out heroes to fight anyway. Like Redrum, known as the sharp-clawed, since he's apparently a catshifter (or general shapeshifter, who knows) who goes around stabbing heroes.
Tubbo works at the mechanics, his boss is retired hero/hero trainer Sam Dude(known as Warden during his time)! Sam retired among controversy though, because of issues surrounding the Hero HQ's former resident healer/ex-licensed hero, Lemon Balm. Tubbo couldn't care less though, Sam's nice and lets him take spare parts home for inventing(read: making vigilante gadgets).
Ranboo helps out at the local library, with Technoblade(last name unknown) as his boss! They're also the first out of the vigilante team Bench Trio to find out that Techno is the Blood God, one of the most popular vigilantes currently active, and one half of the elusive Emerald Duo.
Phil runs a bird shelter, and when he's out as the Angel of Death, he sometimes lets the crows from the shelter follow him around!
Kristin is a hero-turned-vigilante, formerly Miss Trixtin, currently the Goddess of Death. She's a bit busy with her day job atm though so she's taking a bit of a break from her vigilante job.
Wilbur is their son who left home after an argument about vigilantism not helping reform the corrupt hero system. He's a villain called Silver Tongue now. He keeps stealing important stuff from the Hero HQ with Fundy. He gets pretty close with Tommy after regularly visiting his (adoptive) son's workplace :D
Bench Trio's vigilante names are Aerie(Tommy- telekinesis + singing to plants to make them grow), Bee Bomb(Tubbo- honey colored explosive energy balls & metal manipulation), and Endgame(Ranboo- teleportation & compression, plus they can bite through anything)!
(Double powers are uncommon but not too rare, triple powers are EXTREMELY rare.)
Tommy's bakery coworkers are Fundy Soot(villain- helps his adoptive father, Wilbur, on his little outings. Ability to go unnoticed by everyone and anyone. It works on technology as well. He's also a general shapeshifter in theory, but he can't transform into animals bigger than a fox.), Badboy Halo(civillian- he can make red vines grow out of the ground! This saved Skeppy's butt once, cuz they used to live in the same neighborhood & went to the same schools, and one time Skeppy fell off the flagpole of the middle school. Bad's vines caught him midair.), and later on Ant Frost(🤫).
Niki herself is actually a former hero who resigned, she got too much hate about her power(copying others' powers for a short while). Puffy, who was her partner, retired a few years later, since she'd decided to adopt the orphan boy who had applied for the hero training program, and she'd need more money than she was making as a hero who had lost most of her popularity. She became a therapist, and fully supported her new son Foolish throughout his hero training!
Puffy and Niki never really talked about their relationship, but since Puffy's power is reading minds & emotions, and Niki can copy her power, they didn't have to. One day they just started telling people they were taken, and that was that.
Foolish is a popular hero who can call up storms & has the additional power of building anything in the blink of an eye! His partner(both work AND romantic) is Eret, who can control people's actions if they catch sight of her glowing white eyes. Their hero names are the Golden Shark and Monarch respectively.
Tina is also a hero, she graduated the hero training program with Foolish, but her powers(always landing on her feet when she falls, enhanced senses including night vision, and stealth) coincide too much with the top hero, Dream(can't get hurt from falling, slowing down time to give himself time to think, some enhanced agility), and she didn't get very popular. This will soon change though, Tina is the GOAT and everyone will know it.
Speaking of Tina, Hannah Rose the retired hero! She runs a flower shop! She retired after one of her wings was ripped during a fight, the physical therapy took a while and her popularity dropped like a stone. She realized how unfair the hero system was to unpopular heroes and decided to retire. Her wings still haven't recovered, her flight balance is too off for her to even consider flying more than a few feet off the ground, and more than a few seconds.
Las Nevadas! Quackity! He's one of the rare triple powered people! Golden duck wings, can manipulate card-shaped objects(a form of telekinesis), and has the ability to control odds(only if he's aware of all the variables though. It won't work very well if there are unknown factors).
Charlie! May be an elder god, may be the devil, who knows! He can turn into green slime, create green slime(with various properties), and additionally, knows everything about everyone. Nobody actually knows if this is a power or not, but it's certainly terrifying paired with his cheerful, optimistic personality.
Purpled! His skin is basically invincible, fireproof, acidproof, poisonproof, you name it. He also has perfect aim, which is very handy since he's an assassin. His sibling Punz is also an assassin, but they has flight trajectory manipulation and his eyes can zoom in on anything.
Skeppy. He's not part of the mafia, but he might as well be becuase he's literally always there. Nobody knows how he does it. But. He. Is. Always. There. He can summon diamonds though so nobody's complaining😊 lol
(But seriously, he's also fun to hang out with and plan pranks with. The mafia world is full of people who want something from you/have ulterior motives, and it's nice to hang out with someone who doesn't want anything from you other than keeping him company and talking with him.)
Sam, Foolish and Punz are friends! Sam suspects Punz is mafia but keeps quiet about it(he isn't about to make the same mistake as last time), Foolish is oblivious. Punz loves his homies, but is stressed bc Foolish has a v strict moral code and would not be happy if he finds out Punz is mafia.
Uhhh who have I not talked about, KARLNAP. Sapnap was a vigilante(he failed the training program interview) who quickly got recruited by the heroes, Karl was the same but a while later! Sapnap got patrols with Dream and GeorgeNotFound(all three go by their actual names as heroes, though Sapnap's vigilante name was Flame) and immediately gained a huge following(besides his fans from his vigilante days), but Karl(a.k.a. Timekeeper) wasn't that well-known even as a vigilante. He didn't give up though, and trained extremely hard every day. Then one day Sapnap saw him in the training area and got an instant crush. They talked, Sapnap began asking to be paired with Karl for duo patrols, they started dating, and now they're both famous & known as the ultimate power couple :3
Hmm, it feels kinda anticlimactic to end like this, so have a codename compilation!
Tommy- Aerie(place to rest suspended in the air. Tommy can float things in the air so I thought the name fit.)
Tubbo- Bee Bomb(Bee Bombs are wildflower seed balls that you leave out in the garden/in pots to grow wildflowers. I thought Tubbo would like the name, since his energy balls are supposed to smell sweet like wildflower honey.)
Ranboo- Endgame(They're so overpowered with their teleportation and compression that Tommy and Tubbo insisted his appearance alone would signal the beginning of the endgame. Nicknamed Ender.)
Technoblade- the Blood God(obviously.)
Philza- the Angel of Death(also obviously.)
Wilbur- Silver Tongue(for his silver tongue.)
Fundy- either Nonexistent or Ghost, haven't really decided yet
Kristin- (formerly) Miss Trixtin, (currently) the Goddess of Death
Foolish- the Golden Shark
Tina- Carrot Cat
Eret- Monarch
Niki- (formerly) Copycat
Puffy- (formerly) Captain Puffy
Karl- Timekeeper
(Mafia Codename explanation here)
Quackity- Rey Club, King of Clubs
Purpled- Tyrian Spade
Punz- Lapis Lazuli Spade, Ace of Spades
Hannah- (formerly) Faerie, (currently) Bitterbriar Diamond
Skeppy- Adamant Heart(since he's always there anyway, they just gave him a codename.)
Charlie- Dresden Diamond, Jack of Diamonds
Ponk- Lemon Balm/Sorrento Heart(they still go by Lemon Balm as a vigilante)
Ant- Redrum
Eryn- Demon
Aimsey- Daisy(star and Eryn are villains who want to reform society as a whole by blowing up buildings. Only when they're empty tho cuz Aimsey doesn't want to kill ppl)
Velvet: Red Flag
Welp, that's all for now! If there's anything else you'd like to know, please feel free to ask further! I really enjoyed answering this, thank you so much for the ask! 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

On and on It Goes
When Chai comes down with a nasty stomach bug, the gang does their best to take care of him.
read it on ao3
When Peppermint opens the door to the hideout, the first thing she notices is that Chai looks like he wants to die.
She’d been out helping to clear Kale’s corruption. It’s essentially her job. For now, anyway. Eventually, she’ll take over the company. Hopefully, that won’t be for a while. Peppermint isn’t sure she’s really ready for it yet. It’s a huge undertaking. So was taking down Kale and the other company heads, but…that’s different.
Today, it was mostly just meetings. Lots of interviews to get new heads of production, marketing, and finance. They had some solid candidates lined up. The issue is that it’s a whole process. They can’t just hire them. They have to figure out how to get them to the island, get them set up with living quarters, make sure they get everything explained to them properly, shown around so they don’t get lost (even with all the arrows around)…
It’s a pain in the ass.
Peppermint is exhausted. She was hoping to get back and sleep for the next 12 hours.
But Chai is on the couch, curled up and clutching his stomach. He looks uncomfortable. 808 is on the floor looking up at him. She keeps meowing.
Macaron and Korsica must still be at work. CNMN is most likely with Macaron. So that just leaves Peppermint to deal with…whatever this is.
Chai must’ve finally noticed her standing in the door, because he sits up and smiles at her. 808 hops into his lap.
“Hey, Peppermint! How’d the meetings go?”
She narrows her eyes, but plays along. “Eh. We’re getting closer to having new people hired. Shouldn’t be too much longer now…hopefully.”
“What’s going on with you?” she asks. “Just chillin’,” is his breezy reply. “Really? Then why were you clutching at your stomach?” “Whaddya mean?”
Peppermint scowls at him. “Don’t play dumb. What’s wrong?” “Nothing! I promise!” Chai tries to soothe her.
Her scowl somehow gets angrier looking.
His smile turns strained. “My stomach just hurts. That’s all. No biggie.”
“Have you been fighting the SBR units again?”
“No, actually,” he says. “And, for your information, that only happened the other day because they asked me to fight them. So.”
She rolls her eyes.
“It just…kinda started hurting a few hours ago.” “Huh.” Peppermint pauses to think. “Did you forget to eat?”" “Mmm, maybe. I don’t remember when I last did.” “Alright,” she says as she pulls out her phone. “What do you want?” “Uh…do they deliver chicken noodle soup?” he asks. “They can deliver pretty much anything, Chai.” “Then soup.” He yawns. “I’m gonna take a nap.”
Peppermint merely nods in acknowledgement as she orders some food for them. Once that’s done, she sits down at her desk. If she can’t rest until the food gets here, might as well work on uncovering more of those SPECTRA signals around the campus.
Every so often, Peppermint will glance over at Chai. He never fell asleep, though he’s clearly trying to. He keeps tossing and turning. The uncomfortable expression from earlier is back on his face. 808 hopped up and curled up next to him at some point. Slowly, she’s been moving towards the end of the couch, away from him.
Peppermint can’t blame her. It’s hard to rest next to someone who won’t stop moving.
She hopes that it really is just because he’s hungry. He’s had a couple of medical scares the past few weeks.
First, his player stopped functioning correctly for a bit. He kept passing out and getting hurt because of it. They had to make him a new one. It took a little while, but thankfully that got sorted. Chai even got to keep the old one.
But then, not long after, his under the hood implants finally broke down from the constant stress. That was far less terrifying, but it was still a big issue. The nice thing was that it took only about a day to fix. Then everything was back to normal.
Still. The last thing they need is Chai getting sick. Especially because he’ll act like everything’s fine. That’s the worst part.
It would be easier if he took it more seriously. Instead, he jokes around and tries to pretend everything is okay. He’ll ignore his injuries, and sometimes even hide them.
Honestly, Peppermint isn’t sure which is worse.
Korsica, Macaron, and CNMN arrive shortly after their food does. They each have their own moments of checking in with Chai, but he waves them off much like he did with Peppermint.
They eventually gave up on pestering him and settled in. If Chai doesn’t want to talk, there’s no use in trying to force him. He’s as stubborn as a mule sometimes.
With everyone in the hideout, Peppermint feels a bit better. If something goes wrong, it won’t just be up to her. More eyes to see problems, more hands to help.
After eating, she regained some energy, which she used on trying to figure out these stray SPECTRA signals. She thinks she’s got the next one nailed down. Looking at all of the data is starting to give her a headache, though. Time for a break.
Peppermint turns away from her desk with a sigh. She looks around the room to see what everyone else is up to.
Macaron is tinkering with something. CNMN is organizing the clothes hanging up on the racks in the far corner. Korsica is on her laptop, probably answering emails. Chai is lying on the couch reading one of his music books. 808 is curled up near his head.
His soup is sitting on the ground near the couch growing cold. It probably already is.
It bothers her.
Normally, Chai eats his food in a matter of seconds as soon as it’s placed in front of him. He’s like a vacuum. It was a bit unnerving at first, but they all got used to it eventually. Just another quirk of his.
Earlier, he’d been eating it at a glacial pace. Like swallowing was a chore.
At the time, she hadn’t thought much of it. She was too exhausted and caught up in her own food. Now that it’s on her mind, though, it won’t stop bugging her.
Peppermint can’t be completely sure from where she’s sitting at her desk, but it looks like only about half of it is gone.
That part is pretty par for the course. Chai may eat quickly, but he never eats much.
The problem is that it means his stomach doesn’t hurt because he’s hungry. It’s difficult to tell, but she’s pretty sure it’s still bugging him. He looks fine on the surface. There’s an underlying discomfort in his expression and the way he’s lying, though. But maybe she’s just looking for things that aren’t there.
“You good, Chai?” she calls." He hums in response, flipping to the next page of his book.
With a sigh, Peppermint turns away. That’s about as good as she’s gonna get from him.
It’s when they all finally head to bed that the trouble really starts.
Peppermint wakes up to the sound of retching from the bathroom. So does everyone else, from the way Macaron sits up and Korsica makes a sympathetic noise.
CNMN is the first to move. “Mr. Chai, are you alright?” "The only response they get is a groan.
The others stay where they are. Peppermint is unsure what to do.
She has foggy memories of Kale being sick when they were kids, but she never helped out or anything. Mom always took care of it. And whenever she’s sick, she just...takes care of herself.
After a while, CNMN and Chai leave the bathroom. They lead him to the couch, where they help him lie back down.
“I’ll go get a bucket,” Macaron says, before he gets up to do just that.
808 hops up onto Chai, landing on his abdomen. He jolts, quickly picking her up. After taking a deep breath, he shakily sets her down higher up, over his arm’s power unit.
“Next time, throw up in the toilet, please, Mr. Chai,” CNMN says once he’s settled. “You’ll clog up the sink, which would be very bad.”
Peppermint doesn’t even want to think about having to fix and clean that.
“Sorry,” Chai mumbles. “Didn’t think…and then…” “It is alright. You should try to rest.”
When Macaron finally gets back, a small bucket in tow, Chai seems to be asleep.
“Poor little guy,” Macaron says as he places the bucket near the couch. “Hope it was just a one time thing.”
“Me too,” Peppermint whispers.
And, of course, it wasn’t.
Chai throws up about every twenty minutes. Sometimes, he does it in the bucket. Other times, he heads for the bathroom, presumably because it isn’t just vomiting going on.
Each and every time, the others get up to help however they can. They rotate out comforting him. Only CNMN goes with him into the bathroom, though.
Peppermint is never sure what to do. Holding his hand seems to help, though. It hurts her heart seeing him like this. It hurts even more when he mumbles an apology every time.
“Sorry for keeping you up…” “Sorry about this…” Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry.
“Stop apologizing,” she told him at one point. “You don’t need to.” He only murmured another one in response.
It’s exhausting. But Peppermint doesn’t think any of them would be able to sleep through this, anyways.
As the night wears on, the more exhausted and downright awful Chai looks.
At around 4 AM is when he looks his worst.
His hair is a disaster. He’s white as a sheet, his eyes almost looking hollow. And he won’t stop shaking like a leaf.
“Are you cold, Mr. Chai?” CNMN asks as they help him lie down for the thousandth time.
“N-No-No,” he stutters out. He pauses, licks his lips and swallows. “Just…tired.”
“It has been quite some time now since this began. The worst of it should be over. Which means you will be able to get some proper rest!”
Chai laughs. It’s an empty sound.
“That’d be nice.”
He throws up again at 6 AM. 2 hours of peace. 2 hours of sleep.
Peppermint isn’t sure whose turn it is. She decides it’ll just be hers.
That, apparently, was the correct call, because no one else gets up. Not even CNMN, and they don’t really have to sleep. Their exhaustion must’ve finally knocked them out cold.
She sits down on the ground next to him, holding her hand out. After a moment, he shakily takes it with his robotic one. The metal is warm.
At this point, Chai isn’t really throwing up. It’s mostly just dry heaving.
In Peppermint’s experience, that’s far worse than puking.
When he finally stops, it’s quiet for a while. For a moment, she thinks he fell back asleep.
But then he whispers, “Will it be over soon?”
He sounds so small. His voice almost dies halfway through the sentence.
She doesn’t want to lie. Doesn’t want to give him false hope. So Peppermint doesn’t.
“I don’t know. I hope so.”
“Sor—” “Chai.” Silence.
“You don’t have to apologize,” she says with a soft sigh. “You didn’t do anything wrong.”
“Feels like it,” he mutters.
She turns her head to look at him. “What do you mean?”
He stares at her. His eyes gleam faintly in the light cast by the night light they plugged in hours ago. It was better than turning on the lights. Easier to sleep that way.
After a moment, he reaches for a water bottle on the floor. Opening it one-handed, he takes a few sips, before setting it back down. Then he looks at her again.
“I don’t know. I feel like you’re all mad at me.” Peppermint’s brow furrows. “Why would we be mad?” “Because I’m keeping you up,” Chai replies with a shrug. “Not on purpose. Your stomach is all fucked up.” “Yeah…I guess so.”
808 nudges the side of his face. She’s been following him everywhere, never straying from his side. It’s cute. And it’s nice to know that if something happened, at least 808 would be here to wake them all up if Chai can’t.
“You should try and get some sleep,” Peppermint says. “You too,” he says through a yawn. “I will.”
She stays there, holding his hand, even after he drifts off. Eventually, she falls asleep, too. It’s a horrible idea, sleeping on the ground like this—it’ll hurt like a bitch when she wakes up—but she’ll get over it.
Chai has done a lot for her. This is the least she can do for him.
Waking up is painful, just like Peppermint knew it would be.
The good news is that Chai seems to feel better.
They all take the day off to hang out and keep an eye on him. Just in case.
It’s spent watching movies. They watch all of their favorites. And if any of them fall asleep during one, well, it’s not a big deal. They can always just rewind it or rewatch the whole thing.
At one point, Korsica leaves to check on some security things. She comes back with a box of pizza and a gift basket.
“It’s from Roxanne,” she explains as she gives the basket to Chai.
“When was someone gonna tell me that all I had to do to get one of these was get sick?”
Peppermint rolls her eyes at that.
“You don’t have to get sick to have someone send you one. Just…I don’t know…ask.”
“But that’s so awkward!” he whines. “It really isn’t.”
As they eat their pizza and put on some really old movie Chai likes—simply titled ‘Robots’—Peppermint finds she doesn’t mind his joking attitude for once. Maybe it’s because this isn’t some sort of injury that could turn grave fast. Or maybe it’s because she thinks she understands now.
This is another thing Chai tries to do for them. To comfort them. To make them not worry about him. And as annoying as it can be, it does work in its own right.
So if humoring him will help make him feel better, why shouldn’t she?
It’s the least Peppermint can do.

Alrighty now that we've got Eddie's backstory, may I present his girlfriend/life partner:
Annabelle Diane Jackson was born to a middle class family in one of the many towns in New York. Her father, Leonard, was the chief of police, and her mother, Florence was a stay at home mother
Neither of them were very fitting of their roles
Leonard was corrupt and an abusive alcoholic, and Florence turned a blind eye thanks to her addiction to the drugs Leonard provided her from his job.
Annie was constantly wanted to be silent in the home as if she didn't exist, but the perfect angel out in public. When she wasn't she was hit, and chastised by her mother on "why can't you just do what Daddy says"
As Annie grew older she started to try to find any reason to not go home. Library stays for "studying", helping with bake sales, just walking up and down the streets, whatever kept her out of that god forsaken house.
The more she got out, the more she met people on the streets. Hooligans, as many would call them, but Annie thought they were wonderful. Misfits like her who understood bad homes. The more people to talk to, to listen to her, to include her in fun. Drinking, smoking, smoking pot, all the while treating her like a true person.
And with new friends she began to rebel more, getting more snappy, less fearful of her father's hands, wanting to be treated better...
Of course the abuse just got worse but to finally have a purpose - to have people who cared... It stung a tiny bit less. Just a little.
And when she turned eighteen, she was kicked to the curb. "You're not our- MY goddamn problem anymore. Become a whore for all I care. Just get the fuck out."
And out she did. She grabbed the few things she was allowed to leave with and ran like hell. She wanted nothing to do with her old town besides the friends she made. She was homeless, but she was free.
She changed her name- Donna Jean Angelo, and ran off with some of her friends. Donna wanted to go anywhere away from New York, and after travelling about over the years, after the friends split their ways, doing what they could to put food on the table, even stealing, Donna ended up in New Jersey.
She was twenty-seven, living in a shitty apartment, working as a waitress, and stealing and pickpocketing what she had to from those higher up.
She met Eddie in the diner she worked at, and often saw him there as a recurring customer, sometimes with a man and a woman, sometimes just the man, sometimes alone.
The night everything really changed though, was a night like any other... Donna having tripped by a group of bratty teenagers, who had already been making fun of Eddie rather blatantly about his shaggy demeanor, and he was alone today.
Her manager began yelling at her immediately for shattering the plates, and quickly turned to Eddie but- "Nah, it's alright. She... It wasn't her fault. It was those little assholes."
Donna was surprised warmly by the defense of her, but stayed quiet, because like hell was she getting yelled at again.
Later that night, when Donna got off her shift, she passed by a dark alleyway- one she heard noises coming from-
"-you fucking shithead. Don't ever fuck with her again, you hear me? I know someone who could make you hurt a lot worse-"
Upon closer inspection, with the small light of the moonlight, it was.... That Customer. Eddie. With one of the teenagers, who now looked to be almost pissing himself...
Probably because of the gun that Eddie held to his throat.
Eddie's head snapped up and his eyes showed a look of horror at being caught, just enough for the teenager to shove him off and take off running away.
Donna stood frozen, the two of them staring at each other once Eddie recovered from his fall. She'd seen plenty of men with guns, it was New Jersey for Christ's sake...
But never one who fought for her honor like this. And someone adorable too.
"you okay?"

“你的盼望, 是我握在手中小小的太阳”
Your hopes on me is the little sun I cup in my hands.
--------
They snuggled together in bed, a gesture they seemed to reflect even after years apart. A moment passed before Muirin poised to get up first and Myron reached over, possessively grabbing her sister in a tangle of limbs to ensure she couldn’t escape her deathgrip.
“I have work--” Muirin pushed Myron’s face from her, reaching for a pillow to smack her with, “I can just teleport away, and you know that.” Even then, Myron scoffed, feeling Muirin relax against her despite her protests.
“I’ll counter it if you try. Cheap spell of the 2nd circle that it is,” Myron grumbled, reeling Muirin back in, “The Twins can wait a moment before opening. We both have Simulacrums going - and a lot of time. Let’s sleep in for a bit more, and then get ourselves a sprawling breakfast.”
Muirin peeked up at Myron, before sliding out from under her. “Are you making it?” she teased, sitting up and reaching over to push Myron back up to a seated position, “Seems like the Roaringhorn’s been doing you some good. Your meals are starting to improve too. Did cooking for 50 people force you to get better ingredients and actually bother to take care of yourself?”
Myron flopped to a seat, ruffling her fluffy head of hair before squinting into space. “Brother very much does the opposite. In fact he tries to cook for me as much as possible...but yes, I’ve been taking better care of myself these days. Can’t fall apart if I’m in charge of so many children now, right? Don’t want them to worry about me as much as possible.”
“If he was abusing your goodwill you know I’d flay him. I’ve always wanted to see what’s inside a celestial being,” Muirin shook her head, fluffing her pillows and neatly setting them aside, “In the end, all it took was letting you adopt a gaggle of kids to have you sort yourself out. You felt so guilty taking favors from me all the time. Why? Making a small personal army in Waterdeep’s name?”
“They can decide what they want to do with their lives. You know better considering we were taken and trained, no say in that matter,” Myron rubbed her eyes before reaching blindly for her seal plushie behind her, slipping the toy inside one of her pouches, “They can be my personal army for all I care, but I doubt the Witch of the North really needs more rumors about her.”
“I like that. Has a mysterious type of zing to it,” Muirin wiggled her fingers, striding over to pull her twin to her feet, “Do they even put two and two together? Those people don’t even know who they’re talking to half the time.”
“No, and I’d like it to be kept that way,” Myron stumbled against her sister’s weight, allowing Muirin to guide her, “Where else am I going to get speculative portraits of myself as a sinister old crone punishing the corrupt and ruining cults? I need to get my entertainment somewhere.”
“Could offer you some jobs,” Muirin let herself bear Myron’s weight as they walked to the kitchen together, “Want to help me kill vampires at Greenest? Thay killed that piece-of-shit tree that was giving us so much trouble, but you know how they’re like about ensuring we’re both out of that picture. If not, I’m sure there’s some logistical paperwork for Greenest and Waterdeep I’ve been putting off. And also building more items for The Twins...”
“Already working on things for sale. Don’t have to tell me twice,” Myron rested her legs on the table, leaning backwards with acrobatic balance, “I don’t mind going to punt some undead. Need to put my arcane armor to the test anyway. I wonder how well the barding sigils would stretch on a dragon’s body...”
“Don’t,” Muirin gave Myron a warning glare, making a gesture to allow coffee to fill both their mugs on its own, “For someone so determined to keep all her identities separate, you keep trying to fly in as a dragon like you aren’t scaring the townsfolk less than two years after a major dragon attack.”
“I’m a nice dragon!” Myron protested as she accepted the coffee, pouting dramatically, “Maybe they need to read up more on the Draconomicon about topaz dragons instead of scattering in fright. I’m cute and lovely.”
“Getting people to read and improve on themselves? Tall order,” Muirin sighed as she evaluated the items in her stash, “What are you feeling this morning?”
Myron jumped to her feet, already limping over to toss around some ingredients Muirin had set out. “Bugs? We could call back to our roots and eat bugs. Personally I’m feeling toast and eggs,” she rambled, already setting aside her ingredients of choice, “How about some sausages? We hardly get sausages coming in these days. I’m so hungry. Maybe I should get Brother to request for more prime cuts from the surrounding regions.”
“We can discuss business later,” Muirin set out the plates, settling in with mug in hand as she leafed through her copy of the Waterdhavian Times, “If you’re hungry, how do you think I feel?”
“Boo. You wouldn’t even help me cut the crust off the toast and butter it,” Myron protested, already skilfully making scrambled eggs on the makeshift grill - a spark of green flame was all it needed to sputter to life, “Is the papers really that much more important than spending time with your beloved sister?”
Muirin sighed, gesturing to the loaf in front of her to start slicing itself. “You pull that all the time. We lived together for months after I found you again, I think I’ve had quite my fill of you,” she muttered, pulling the papers closer to her face.
“Blasphemy. Nobody gets tired of me,” Myron teased, mixing the butter into the eggs with a satisfying sizzle. “I want my toast triangular.”

I came up with a new OC recently (possible DnD character) and she's good and sweet and naive and her goal is that she's looking for her much older half brother (they are half-elves with the same father) who went missing when she was still young and the last time he came home (for less than an hour, in the middle of the night) she learned some information that indicates he was turned into a vampire. Cool story!
Then I started developing her brother.
I came up with his father being shallow and selfish who abandoned his human wives when they stopped being young and beautiful.
The brother is implied to have driven off their father, and the brother basically raised his sister alongside her mother.
Basically the brother is obsessed with her. He wants to control her and "protect" her. He will even take away her freedom of it will "protect her pure little soul"
The thing is... The brother is also in a toxic relationship. The woman who turned him treats him as both lover and child, but he doesn't care. It's a very "happiness in slavery" type dynamic (the woman who turned him and his sister are the only things that give him limits to what he would do)
The sister has no idea what her brother is like. She sees him as a loving and caring brother that she looks up to.
So basically: the brother is now more interesting than the sister 😅 but I think if I was using her as a PC she'd be easier to play and fit in with other people
For dnd PCs the interesting bit happens as you play! Don't worry about being super special from the word go, that's what the story is for!!!!!
My OC Jinx is the biological granddaughter of Asmodeus (her bio mom is Glasya) bc her dad (lawyer, good at job, bad at ethics) made a deal with Glasya. She's an archfey warlock and shadow sorcerer (after being corrupted with shadow magic by her patron) but other than that she's just a spoiled little rich kid!!! It's ok to have characters that are kinda plain with cool details to work with that's what the story is for!!!
My character for Curse of Strahd is a 19 year old farm girl who has seen so much tragedy but wants to kick Strahd's toothy ass about taxes!!! No character is boring unless you make them boring. Make your girl interesting by playing her!!!

I like that! I think I personally still don't think sequels Luke was the same character as originals Luke, but I could also be persuaded otherwise if I read something that convincingly linked the two together (if you ya know happen to write a fic abt this I would fs read it :> )
From a certain point of view, though, I can see what they were going for. Luke in the originals was young and inexperienced and hadn't really experienced The Horrors or anything yet. He lived on a farm with a family who loved him and so I can imagine that would lend itself to generally believing more than the Jedi (who lived through Order 66) or people in the galactic underworld in basic human kindness. So if by the time he was middle aged Luke is now cynical and scared, something must have happened between the trilogies such that Luke suddenly ran into the fact that not everyone is a good person. Lots of stuff in the galaxy is awful and lots of peoples lives are awful and yes the thing with your father worked out but there are lots of things that don't have easy solutions. It's easy (for him) to blow up two battle stations but much harder to construct a working government to replace the Empire.
I don't know what finally did it for him but (and this is me projecting a little bit) trying to set up a working Senate and dealing with the frustrations of government being slow and sometimes corrupt could be part of it. It's one thing to be optimistic about human nature when you're talking about a single person, and a single event, but what if you have to deal with huge galaxy-wide problems over and over and over, and there are no easy solutions. And even people who are supposed to be on the good side are actually selfish and self-serving and don't care about the greater good at all. So maybe by the time he started a training temple at all, he was already a bit tired and a bit worn down and stressed like you said about not messing up but he's not doing well so he worries a lot and Ben can sense that. And then throw in the fact that Ben is a very difficult student and maybe doomed to fail from the start because of Snoke and you end up with a really prickly situation.
Ooh and Luke is worrying and anxious that he's not doing it right but because he's worrying so much he's not paying attention to what's happening to Ben right in front of him. If Ben is having trouble or gets angry or messes up, Luke blames himself and doesn't even consider that something or someone else might be at fault. I could totally see a less mentally well Luke blaming himself for something that was a little his fault but mostly stuff he couldn't control, and deciding to just go hide somewhere because he doesn't feel like he's doing any good.
I can see that... but even if it makes sense I'm still annoyed at the sequels writers for not showing us that. Like, make all the character changes you want but please show us how you got there. We're not responsible for imagining the character stuff that got them there, that's the movie's job (in my opinion. like it's one thing to imply something that you've thought out in detail and are choosing not to show, and quite another thing to not really have thought the thing through in the first place and I think the latter one is the case with the sequels)
hmmmmmm thinking about how we all went “luke skywalker would never do that. this isn’t luke skywalker” and it’s okay to totally hate it but maybe that was sort of the point

How the Obey Me Cast Would Protect MC
Lucifer
With all his (considerable) might.
Keeping his human safe in such a dangerous place is a point of pride to him. To attack them, then, is to besmirch that pride… and you can imagine the consequences of that.
Cold and brutal, but also swift and effective. Lucifer will have any attacker who comes at them cooked to a crisp then served to Cerberus by lunchtime.
If someone were to actually hurt MC, he'd take it as a failure on his part and seek to "fix" it by any means necessary. An eye for an eye is not nearly strict enough, even a light bruise will make him go for the heart.
Mammon
To his dying breath.
They are one of the best things to happen to him in centuries so do you think that he's going to let them go easily? Of course not!
Mammon is no slouch. He's second oldest and second strongest, so any intruder better take him seriously. His speed is his greatest weapon and he'll end a fight before it gets to start.
Mammon would 100% lay down his life if it meant keeping MC safe. He wouldn't think about it nor hesitate and his attacks are pretty reckless in kind. Anyone who hurts MC won't be able to hide behind his self-preservation, they're always going down even if he's going with them.
Leviathan
With the force of a Grand Admiral.
Usually, Levi prefers to stay out of confrontation. Not because he's too weak to fight but because he's often too much to handle.
This man's opening move is to summon a seven-headed sea monster that floods the local area and chews his opponents to pieces... How much worse do you think he can do when he's serious?
Levi isn't put into the spotlight very often and he'll rarely enter a fight head-on, but for MC he'll win any battle, any time. He's bringing a tank to a water balloon fight and he doesn't care who screams, "HAX!!!"
Satan
Like a beast without a cage.
Don't be fooled by his brains and good manners, under all of that lies a bona fide demon.
"Savage" doesn't even begin to describe Satan when he's pissed and being a threat to MC will get him there in a millisecond. He's every bit as remorseless as Lucifer, but without the careful efficiency. Breaking every bone takes time.
And again, that's only if he considers someone a threat. To anyone who actually hurts MC, there'll be so little left Simeon will have nothing to pray over... Promise.
Asmodeus
As if they were a part of himself.
Asmo has gone on record many times saying how much he loves himself - he could kiss a mirror, he loves himself that much. But when MC stepped into his life, they became a part of him too.
So all that anger he gets when he sees a chipped nail? The fury he feels when someone ruins his hair? He feels the same when someone hurts MC, but tenfold.
The people who hurt them aren't just attacking his image, they're attacking his soul - and he responds in kind. No punishment is too steep at that point. Even if it was his charm, he'd say they did it to themselves.
Beelzebub
Like he's sworn an oath.
In the Celestial Realm, Beel was ready to lay down his life for Lucifer. He doesn't see much of a difference here, really.
Defending his loved ones is in his DNA - it's how he thinks and operates. The moment the MC befriended Beel, whether they knew it or not, they had a bodyguard for life.
He's already lost one family member but he'll never lose another. He'll be the first to leap to their defense and the last to ever call it quits. Satan may leave a little, but Beel will make sure there's nothing left when he's done.
Belphegor
Like there's finally something worth fighting for.
Being as lazy and lethargic as he is, most people wouldn't pick Belphegor as their protector, but for MC? He'll wake right up.
Belphie had been running on autopilot for a long time after losing Lilith... If he had any reason to fight anymore, it'd be for Beel but it's not like his twin needs the help.
The MC is different… so human and as fragile as ever. Though it feels like they could disappear at any moment, he'd never let it happen. He'd burn everything to the ground first.
Diavolo
With the power of a King.
Just take a moment to actually appreciate how insane someone must be to want to hurt MC with the Demon Lord at their back...
Does this even need elaboration? He would maim them, eviscerate them, send an army to trample their bones, then resurrect the pieces to do it all over again!
For the good that the MC has done him, his realm, and the world at large - he wouldn't settle for anything less. But of course, no one would be that stupid anyway… Right...?
Barbatos
Quietly, from the shadows.
Barbatos knows where he fits in the world. He doesn't need any fame or glory, nor to be looked at as some kind of hero (because he most certainly is not).
Barbs will take every measure possible to be sure that threats are dealt with, but always behind the scenes. He's a man of many talents, thus it never takes him very long.
The MC is his Lord's guest and very important to everyone there… Their stay shouldn't be marred by something as trivial as fear. They can just keep going about their day as usual and he'll keep the threats buried out of sight... literally.
Simeon
Without mercy.
All the kindness in the world can't hide one thing, Simeon is a living weapon - plain and simple - as an Archangel it's in his job description.
Loyal but pragmatic, Simeon will do or say what he needs to in order to get the best outcome he can. He's an angel, but he'll bend or even break the rules when MC is involved...
If they're in danger, he will defend them however he can and with all his might. There's no room for forgiveness or talking things out. He's risked everything for them before and he'll do it again and again…
Solomon
Even if the world burns...
To say that Solomon has a "different" way of looking at things would be charitable. Either from prolonged corruption or centuries of a lonely life: his methods, priorities, and even logic can be a bit iffy to others…
Likewise, for reasons only he knows (perhaps the emotion called "Love"), he's decided that the MC is worth protecting above all else. He will hold true to this.
The stars could be falling and the planet cracking to pieces sending mayhem running through the streets as the Three Realms collapse around them - but he will do everything in his immense power to safeguard the only thing that matters - his MC.

'' I never usurped anything. The only time I did was when I broke free – Now, adobe everything else, was lent to me. Even when I didn't want at first. '' His voice even when it held the fires of calamity itself, hot and bright like the sunset adobe that paints red skies amidst debris and smoke, dirt and stars beyond. Calmness mars his usual frown, from a new king born from ashes rises the revenge and promises-driven Archangel, wings battered unlike the other. And yet, still shining bright to full splendor. '' I never desired to take Lucifer's place, I would've given anything to deny his sacrifice; but he choose this. And I'll honor that.'' Even if it means finishing what the other started, even when Lucifer, as far as he can imagine, didn't want to burden anyone with these things when far back past many millennia, Sandalphon truly wanted to exactly do that and take on the other's burdens.
All so those tired smiles could relax, even if just a little bit. And even more now, knowing the silent wars waged within the silence Lucifer offered, thankless jobs the other did when no one ever asked him to.
'' And yet you speak of me as nothing but vermin. And maybe i am. Maybe the mortals down us are all nothing but sand but then what? what if their choice is also to live even when reality is an imperfect myriad of contradictions. Is it so bad to wish for that? Lucilius!? '' And yet, he knows there's also that darkness that comes from it, not ever a true peace but a balance of cataclysms, strife and wars that brew between mortals that wipe entire populations time from time. It's an inevitable thing. But what then?
'' You cannot choose for the world – in my eyes, and maybe I'm wrong, it all comes from selfishness of yours, greed and something you seek. '' The god adobe, the great one. Sandalphon couldn't care less about a oh so called higher being that created all this when it was such an imperfect world. But it is what it is, somehow, somewhere, maybe even when it had long departed or turned it's back on the world, even then there's a meaning to it or simply exists without a reason.
And yet, even when the grand light that resides still within him, as labored pants drop from battered lungs and broken lips with blood still sometimes mixed with spit. Various circles manifest from behind, a last attack. To vanish the other for good or so he wants - Anything to get away from the looming danger that he feels coming, a whisper coming from somewhere that says to get away as soon as he can. A familiar voice? Huh...
'' There must be more plans you had, but for now, cease to be. '' Lucifer probably isn't even mad at you. Is left unsaid, at the back of his mind, something that's beyond his own voice as the magic circles behind him against fanned out rainbow wings all but bring light, warmth, a myriad of gold specs and promises like an embrace. Even when at the side of his eyes he could feel something else, another rainbow, something that makes the back of his battered hair stick upright and tattered skin goosebumps in a warning. He has to get away, and yet he still stays. Blinding but even then, even when this spell itself did not belong to him. It's something that even before free him himself from cold, steel talons, comes from a guiding light, something that serenely whispers to him how it goes, each symbol that draws out the ether into a condensed thing, a light that both gives life as it also burns it away into it's never ending cycle of rebirth and destruction. A paradise lost – one that even now sandalphon can feel it's weight on his tired shoulders that stubbornly hold taut despise the tears and bruises and slashes that have cut tendons that heal much slower because of the other's corruption.
'' This isn't your story, Lucilius. Neither is mine. Be gone!! Paradise lost – !!! '' It isn't a good bye – far from it, he knows perhaps the other might survive it, find a way out. Whatever is happening not so far from them could be a tric of the other, whatever it is. He doesn't intend to do a half finished job, as the rays of a spell borrowed, lent to him falls in a myriad cascade of light. He announces it like a hymn, a wish, even when his throat hurt like as if he's swallowed nails and debris, even when his lungs blurted out blood and bile.
if lucilius was someone who could feel on any meaningful level, then he'd definitely say wringing the other's neck evoked some kind of sick joy. or rather, more accurately, a catharsis thousands of years in the making. unhurriedly squeezing his neck as if to get every last moment seared into his memory, to draw out as much suffering as he could inflict. and yet this damn obstacle kept talking, kept blathering on about drivel that only mattered to skydwellers, to beings who didn't know any better. sandalphon was in a position to rule, to guide, to carry wisdom within himself, and yet the words that oozed from his gaping maw was nothing short of mortal fallacy.
insisting that it'd been lucifer's "choice." his "selfishness." what dizzying nonsense. how dare he speak on what he could never know? even with his legacy, how could he ever hope to fathom it? it's this impasse that causes lucilius to falter but for a split second — and sandalphon's resistance throws him right off. lucilius rolls but then regains composure, his stance wide until he's bombarded with fierce blades of providence yet again. until...
"thieving is the one before me, usurping a body you crafted yet never belonged to, stealing the light from the skies without giving a choice..."
he stops. collapsed on the ground, keeled over, with brilliantly luminous blades of violet protruding out from his body like overgrown grotesqueries and stained bangs hiding his expression. he stares, long and hard at the ground before sandalphon's feet, and it's then the world falls quiet. it's not peace he feels, oh, far from. it's not defeat, nor is it languish. he's felt this way before — once, but all the same. that day he realized existence was worthless. resignation.
his fearsome wings vanish, feathers gently falling (they descend because gravity dictates). he's not going to bother indulging sandalphon the explanations to every aspect of his plans and designs, his philosophies and long-lived truths. least of all was he going to explain that being resurrected wasn’t his choice, let alone at the expense of lucifer himself. and perhaps a deep part of himself didn't want to admit that death had truly felt like splendor.
there's a long pause of silence before he moves again. slowly, the harbinger of darkness rises, still with the other's swords adorning this borrowed frame of his (what a mess, comes the idle, dull thought, what a mess they've made of lucifer's body). when fully upright, lucilius, one by one, pulls them out and returns them to aether. the pain is undeniably intense as it shocks those frayed nerves with each excavation, ripping through disjointed vessel without abandon. yet he doesn't stir. he stands there, listless. a hand touches a wound, tracing it carefully, then splays his palm before himself to look down upon it, drenched in dark, sanguineous abyss. he can see his reflection. there's red in there (it's sandalphon's blood. lucilius' blood had been red once, too. it'd coated lucifer's sword so resplendently). shimmering, white hair is painted with the same. in the end, he is but a shadow of his former self. his creations were brought to ruin. he'd been made a monstrosity without his consent (that idiot). the sullied hand curls into a fist.
an empire of dirt.
"in the end, creations will always usurp their creators."
the seraph of amalgamations says his name in a manner that evokes... something. his chest stirs, grasping within dark expanses at a memory. the last memory before he re-awoke. the same cadence, the same defiance as lucifer had right before departing head from neck. it was a quick, clean slice — dare he say he was almost proud at how perfect the stroke was. the jokes... truly wrote themselves.
at long last, he finally looks at sandalphon right into his burning, crimson eyes, yet he doesn’t attack further, instead standing there like a looming tower. lucilius' visage runs affectless, like someone who has truly died. that ire from earlier, extinguished. ripe, with decay. "don't speak my name as if you know me, let alone with such vitriol."

Ponk did a banger improvised speech in his stream yesterday (“Dream SMP---> Master Oogway shrine pt.93”), about 15 minutes in.
And I decided, as you do when your fave only feeds you crumbs of roleplay, to write a bit analyzing it (From this point on it’s all /rp)!!
Ponk starts by looking down the L’manburg crater and talking about the cycle of conflicts on the server. As one of the original eight members on the SMP he has been apart of most of it, even if sometimes neutral and from an outside perspective. Different to characters like Technoblade, he doesn’t view countries or governments as the root of said conflicts. Instead, it’s something more fundamental, basic - it’s civilization:
“Civilization is just a brutal cycle of destruction and corruption”
Before L’manburg, before any kind of power structure, there have been conflicts. The disc war, Ponks lemon trees burning - the only thing as constant as conflict on the Dream SMP is people living together in an area, trying to make it work.
“Out of corruption, friendship... you know what is born? New civilizations. And you know what happens in civilizations? Conflict”
This isn’t Ponk criticizing the concept of civilization, however. Ponk doesn’t distance himself from people in the way Techno or maybe Hbomb does, he still has attachments, his trees, pets, people, things he cares (or cared) about. Many of his builds are close to the main area. Ponk is a social character, I don’t see a reason to assume otherwise. He doesn’t criticize civilizations in general, but the ones present on the SMP right now. Because in Ponks eyes, there is only on leader fit to run.
“You see, the only man, who could run a civilization, died fighting for a civilization that he took under his wing”, Ponk says, “and he lays rest over there”
When Ponk zoomed onto Schlatts grave, it caught me off guard at first.
But it makes sense. I don’t see many people talking about it, but there was a time where Ponk was the only person on Schlatts side. He entered a trade deal with Manberg and became a loyal supporter of Schlatt. During that time there was a plotline surrounding the building of the “Manburg Hotel” – that was Ponks job. After Tubbo died during the festival he was the only builder left in Manburg.
Ponk never got to finish the hotel, he had a falling out with Schlatt about how he refused to get treated for his declining health, but the first floor and scaffolding outline stood strong until November 16th. He joined Pogtopia to be their doctor instead, being the last person to switch sides iirc, but having an argument because of Schlatts health? The thing that later caused his death? That sounds like an argument that you would have with somebody you care about. Ponk cared about Schlatt, and still supports him as a ruler after his death. There’s Fund who keeps Schlatts sword as an heirloom, and there’s Jack Manifold who takes him as an idol to “be worse”, but unapologetically supporting Schlatts leadership postmortem is special to Ponk and very fascinating to me.
Bringing back the cycle of conflict, the Pogtopia vs. Manburg war is not exempt from that. Something being part of a cycle implies that it ends.
“Nothing lasts forever”
Ponk has seen proof of that way too many times, being an original member. He watched Lemon City burn, L’manburg fall, the Community House explode, hell he was close to killing the oldest pet on the server!
“I’m sure Dream will get out of prison”, Ponk says, in a tone that is almost offhand. He is sure of it; Dream can’t be stuck in prison forever on a server in which the concept of “forever” doesn’t exist.
This is brought up when Ponk talks about the egg, which he also views as only one of the conflicts in the cycle.
“What happens after the egg? Sure, the egg could be a common enemy, or a common friend, chat. But when its gone, for things never stay the same?”
This makes him acting indifferent towards the egg feel in character. He isn’t immune to the egg in the way Tommy is for sure; he hears its voice, and it influences him to do things like almost killing Fran. But he still takes it less seriously than most, talking very casually with it (“shut yo ass up, you stupid egg”) for example. If it follows the patterns of past conflicts there is very little reason to be afraid of it, it will pass like every other conflict.
Except, Ponk might see one difference when it comes the egg: It is bigger.
“Maybe one day this conflict will get so large, that we’re pushed out of this land and into a new one”
cc!Ponk talked about how, since this bit was improvised, he doesn’t know if any of what he predicts ends up being canon in future. This still seems like a bit of foreshadowing for a long-theorized world reset after the Minecraft 1.17 update.
The update is said to come out in the summer of this year, so if the reason for the reset is really the egg like c!Ponk speculates, it’s going to be a long arc. Which the arc has been so far too to be fair, it has always had a long setup and in general a slow burn vibe. But if the egg actually continues to be an issue for another 4-5 months, the vines are going to grow so much that there won’t be a realistic way to clean them up fast, so moving would make a lot of sense.
Another option is that the SMP ends in 2-3 months instead and the content creator take a break for a month or too before creating the new world.
All of this is just speculation based on a line of Ponks that he said might not mean anything, so there is still a large chance that there will be other conflicts after the egg.
tldr: Ponk can improvise incredibly cool speeches that illustrate his opinions on how civilization causes conflict and how he believes Schlatt was the only fit ruler. It might also foreshadow that the egg will cause a server reset.

Trevor Philips Kinks
Just some headcanons on what I think Trevor's kinks would be and some in-depth explanations. ;) I've got some ideas for Michael too that I might post later. Idk if anyone will even see this but! Under the cut for obvious reasons. Let me know if you guys want more of these for other characters!
CW/Mentioned Kinks: Breeding, Choking, Dirty Talk, Praise, Piss Kink, Rough Sex, Exibitionism/Public Sex, Degradation, Biting Kink, Predator/Prey, Dom/Sub Dynamics, Dacryphilia (crying/tears)
Giving:
-Breeding: Doesn't actually want kids, but loves the idea of knocking his partner up and leaving them dripping with his cum. It's also about control and possession over his partner for him; you're his and no one else's. Only he gets to see you this way.
-Dirty Talk: Trevor says the filthiest fucking shit when he's balls deep inside of you and once he starts running his mouth he just can't stop. Every other word is profanity and he is extremely vocal about how he's feeling and the things he's thinking about during sex. And speaking of...
-Praising: Oh, he'll praise you if you're doing a good job alright, but usually in a demeaning or dirty way. Sometimes it's simple phrases like "You're so fucking good," and other times it's along the lines of, "You like it rough, huh? 'Course you do. Fucking take it, fuck-! Such a good cumslut!" Like I said, everything that comes out of his mouth during sex is absolute filth.
-Rough Sex: Trevor's all about rough; there's hardly ever anything gentle about the way he handles you during sex. He'll pull at your hair, push your face into the pillow, and manhandle you into whichever position he wants. However, his favorite place to grab at is your chest and hips. He's 100% a boob guy but also loves to grip you by your sides to put a little more oomf into his thrusts. He'll leave bruises where his fingers were digging into your skin from the force of his grip; you're probably going to be sore in the morning.
-Foreplay: Actually likes foreplay a lot, but gets tired of it really quickly and wants to get to the main act ASAP. If he had a little bit more patience, then he might drag it out and make it last a bit longer. Really enjoys skin to skin contact in general (though he won't openly admit it), so he's extremely handsy. Also loves the feeling of you squeezing around his fingers while you cum.
-Choking: Again, it's a control thing. It's less about actually choking his partner and more about having his hand wrapped around their throat in such a way that it reminds them that he's the one in control of the situation and, consequently, them. He's the one calling the shots here.
-Exhibitionism/Public Sex: Trevor can and will fuck his partner in public, whether it's in his vehicle, on his front porch, or in a not-so-private booth in the strip club. He doesn't care who sees. If he's in the mood, then he's in the mood. In fact, it gets him riled up if he knows he has an audience- might as well give them a show, right?
-Piss Kink: It's not his first time with this and it won't be his last. In or on you, Trevor does NOT care either way. For him it's mostly about defiling/corrupting his partner, but it's also about feeling possessive over them and "marking" them as his. And sometimes he just gets the urge to piss during sex and, well... Trevor isn't exactly shy or shameful about what turns him on and gets him going. If it gets him off, it gets him off- piss kink included.
-Degradation: Kind of self explanatory. If you manage to piss Trevor off, he will absolutely degrade you and shame you. He'll call you all sorts of names and insults, and once he figures out what sort of things you like in the bedroom, he will use it against you and make you wish you'd never said a thing about it. He's also not above kink shaming his own partner even if he's into some really heavy kinks himself. Tread lightly, here!
-Biting: Don't be surprised if at one point he just decides to sink his teeth into you while the two of you are going at it. He mostly does it during foreplay/when he's flirting, but he loves nipping and biting at your skin, especially in places where you're extra sensitive. If you make any sort of noise or give him any indication that he's found a weak spot of yours, he will relentlessly attack it with his mouth and leave behind purple bruises, sometimes even teeth marks.
Predator/Prey: He's got a thing for chasing down his partner and cornering them so that they feel helpless and completely at his mercy. Consensually, that is! A little bit of fear never hurt anyone, right? He also really enjoys the chase itself and will taunt his partner the whole time it happens. "Oh come on, what are you so afraid of, hm!? It's not like I'll hurt you...much! I WILL find you. And when I find you, I'll-" He's too busy laughing absurdly to himself to finish his sentence. Trust me...you didn't want to hear the end of it anyway.
Receiving:
-Praise Kink: Tell him he's doing a good job. Tell him how good he's making you feel, tell him he's the best fuck you've ever had, tell him he's so fucking good. He eats that shit up. It'll stir him up and really get him going if he wasn't rearing to go already. Careful though, he might not last long like that!
-Piss Kink: Likes it because it's seen as taboo for most. But he likes being dirty and depraved, so go ahead- piss all over his cock. He fucking loves it.
-Finishing Last: Believe it or not, this man actually gets off on getting you off first. He likes watching your body tense under him and how your face twists up in pleasure, and he absolutely loves the feeling of you squeezing around his dick. Often times he can't finish until you do, but once you've had yours then he'll go after his.
-Dom/Sub Dynamics: Ocassionally, Trevor will let you take the lead and boss him around a bit, but only of his own volition. He enjoys letting someone else take control for a while, but could just as easily turn the tables back around on you, so you'd be wise to treat him nicely during this time. He gets particularly needy and clingy when he's submissive, but don't expect him to admit it later on- he'd rather die first. And if you ever tell anyone what he's like as a sub? Well...you'd better start running. Like, now. If he manages to catch you (he will), he'll reverse your roles and show you exactly how dominate he can be.
Possible Turn Offs:
-Dacryphilia (crying): Gets overwhelmed and panics if his partner starts crying, even if from pleasure. It just stresses him out, mostly because it makes him feel out of control and he's not sure how to handle the situation. That in turn makes him feel pissed off and angry (not at his partner, but at himself). Watery eyes are one thing, but any tears and he starts losing his shit (and not in the good way).

Harry Potter FanFiction I greatly enjoy (it’s just tomarry and sevitus)
Fair warning, I’m not good at describing stuff, and most of these are not complete (yet) but if you have similar tastes as I do then you’ll definitely like these stories.
Meddling of a Mischief Maker - by Athy
https://archiveofourown.org/works/5380535/chapters/12427268
I enjoy this fic because it shows a more human Voldemort with him still being an asshole as per usual. They do a good job of having Voldemort believably change into a not crazy murderous bastard haha. It also has Sirius interacting with Voldemort and for some reason I find those scenes hilarious in any fic I read.
“Harry's being a horcrux is a bit reworked here in this AU Story set during the summer after 5th year. A Mischief Maker intervenes in the Ministry during Voldemort and Dumbledore's duel, changing the course history. MorallyGrey!Dumbledore, Sirius, Restored Souls, HP/TR”
Draw Me After You (Let Us Run) - by ToAStranger @toast-ranger-to-a-stranger
https://archiveofourown.org/works/22327684/chapters/53334382
This story is a delight, it’s tone is very good and they do a great job of writing in the characters ‘voices’ for their pov’s. I especially like the posh way Voldemort talks and acts. This story is also hilarious on top of just being a very good slowburn, AND it has Sirius, which as you might have guessed, I love dearly. They also don’t bash any of the characters, and instead make them well rounded but flawed individuals, which I really appreciate.
“Harry Potter,” comes the soft, sibilant hiss of a voice he has heard in his dreams, in his nightmares, in his waking hours for years.
Slowly, carefully, Harry twists over and pushes up onto his hands and knees. He stays there, short breath fogging in front of his face, and his pursuer lets him. Harry has no doubt of that; he’s being allowed this respite. This small moment to catch his bearings, heart pounding in his ears, blood singing.
“It seems I have finally caught you.”
Consuming Shadows - by Child_OTKW @childotkw
https://archiveofourown.org/works/7040089/chapters/16011331
I’ve read two of childOTKW’s fics and both of them are fantastically written and attention grabbing stories. This one was the first one I read, and it has a very interesting take on lily Potter (one which I really enjoy) and the plot can leave you on the edge of your seat at times. The characterization is great, and the process of Harry and Tom getting to know each other is done very well.
“His attention skipped passed the students and moved to the politicians’ pavilion. His gaze locked with crimson, and he nearly faltered under the sheer hunger in those eyes.
It unnerved him how fixated the man was on his dirtied, exhausted figure.
But what troubled him more was the slight smirk he could make out on the man’s lips. It was almost pleased.
On the night of the attack, Lily managed to escape with her infant son, but at the cost of her husband’s life. Distraught and distrusting of her friends, she fled to France with Harry, to raise him away from the corruption in Britain and the rising influence of the Dark Lord. She trains him to the best of her abilities, shaping him into a dangerous, intelligent and powerful wizard.
But when Britain re-establishes the Triwizard Tournament, and Harry is forced to return to his once-home, he finds himself questioning whether he really wants to kill the Dark Lord. Voldemort finds an unexpected challenge in the child, and as his intrigue and amusement grows, so too does the desire to possess the spark in those defiant green eyes.”
A story that is kind of similar but not really: The Train to Nowhere
You Belong To Me (I Belong To You) - by child_OTKW
https://archiveofourown.org/works/11270490/chapters/25203408
This is a story inspired by the manwha ‘At The End Of The Road’ by Haribo. A comic I read before reading this, which is very good I recommend it. They do not take the exact plot from the comic though, obviously changing significant details for it to work properly as a Tomarry Fic, but one main thing stays the same, which is that this is a body swap. Honestly I really enjoy childOTKW’s works, and this is no exception. The characterization is wonderful as always, and Harry is Fantastic. Plus I’ve always been a fan of time travel fics. (Fair warning this is another slow burn and Harry centric)
“What I find absolutely fascinating,” Riddle said, stalking closer, “is you.” He marched forward, backing Harry up until he was pinned to the cool wall of the common room. “Do you know why?”
“No. And I’ll be honest here, Riddle, I don’t particularly care.”
The taller boy grinned at him, small yet infinitely pleased. “That. Right there.” One hand rose and brushed some of Harry’s fringe from his face. “Nathan Ciro was a spineless little boy too afraid of his own shadow to dare even glance in my direction. But you…”
He leaned closer, “You look at me like you want to stab me.”
“After an accident, Auror Harry Potter wakes up in the body of fourteen year old Nathan Ciro, a tormented Slytherin who recently tried to end his own life. Seeking answers to his strange predicament, Harry returns to Hogwarts, and causes quite the stir through staff and students - especially when they come to realise he is not the same boy as before.
He tries to avoid suspicion, but as his quest for the truth draws more and more attention to him, Harry begins to think that he might not like what he will discover.”
Some Bonus AU tomarry
A Thousand Paths Among The Stars - by Haplessshippo @haplesshippo
https://archiveofourown.org/works/12015060/chapters/27191238
This is a star trek au and it’s honestly my favorite tomarry au fic. Granted, I am a huge sci-fi fan. There’s also a bit of a twist at the end, or at least it surprised me, due to the way we usually expect tomarry plots to go.
“Harry Potter, newly appointed Captain of the Marauder and son of the famous Captain James Potter, was falling apart at the seams. His crew didn’t respect him, he was lost in the empty expanse of space, nightmares plagued his sleep, and his Commander deserved the Captain position more than he did. Good thing multiple attempts on his life and a vicious warlord after his head was all it took to turn it all around.
Alternatively, that space fic in which Harry Potter almost dies too many times, Tom Riddle slowly becomes the most smitten fool on the ship, and the rest of the crew are all just a bunch of assholes with popcorn watching the show. And exploding ships, don't forget the exploding ships.”
The Matchmaker - by TanninTele

I am ALSO a huge true crime fan, and this story has a criminal that kinda reminds me of one that might appear in Hannibal (but with less murder). I enjoy the characterization, though tom is pretty tame in this compared to more cannon fics, considering he’s not the criminal and instead an investigator. Harry is also different from how people usually portray him, but I still like it.
“'The Matchmaker' is a serial abductor whose modus operandi consists of pairing two same-sex individuals together in a coffin, six feet underground - buried alive. He isn't a killer. He's a kidnapper with morals, and Detective Chief Inspector Tom Riddle finds himself obsessed with solving the case.
Unfortunately for Tom, the Matchmaker is just as intent on knowing him.”
And on to the Sevitus Stories
Far Beyond A Promise Kept - by oliversnape
https://archiveofourown.org/works/547431/chapters/974693
A classic, Harry stays with snape and unintentionally proves all his assumptions wrong and makes snape care about him. Both the stories have this aspect, but this one has snape a bit nicer from the get go. Probably because it takes place during the third book, so they’ve only known each other two years. It’s quite wholesome though, and I rather enjoy the progression of their relationship.
“Snape never wanted anyone to know of his promise to Dumbledore, but has realised that he can protect Potter much better by taking a less passive role in the boy's training. Actually liking Harry Potter has never been part of his plan. mentor/guardian.”
Crime And Punishment - by melolcatsi

Snape and Harry have way more of a rocky start in this one, and Snape having to pick Harry up from the police station Really Doesn’t Help Snape’s opinion of him. This story very realistically shows the progression of their relationship, going from enemies to family, and near the ‘end’ (it’s not finished) it becomes very wholesome with Snape trying to help Harry with his mental and physical health after years of abuse/ neglect.
“Harry is accused of burglary. The Dursleys leave him to rot. Dumbledore sends Snape to remedy the situation. Harry finds himself in the care of an irate Snape. Not slash, gen-fic w/ focus on Sevitus relationship. Angst galore. Warnings: coarse and suggestive language, mentions of abuse/neglect. Un-betaed and un-Britpicked.”
